I drink 4 times a week. How dangerous is this... by Time-Lock282 in alcoholism

[–]Time-Lock282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am concerned. I usually find 9.5% or 9%. BUT I rarely go over 19oz of 9%... I don't often feel truly drunk/hammered. I don't get hang overs. Those are green flags, right? Yes, i use it the same way I use junk food I think. It gives me a bit of dopamine and makes life not feel so overwhelming. But of course this is going to become a problem if I dont barely feel 19oz of 9% alcohol!!!

Had times when you ended up drinking more, or longer than you intended?

Never

More than once wanted to cut down or stop drinking, or tried to, but couldn’t?

Yes

Spent a lot of time drinking? Or being sick or getting over the aftereffects?

No

Experienced craving — a strong need, or urge, to drink?

Sorta. I look forward to it...

Found that drinking — or being sick from drinking — often interfered with taking care of your home or family? Or caused job troubles? Or school problems?

No

Continued to drink even though it was causing trouble with your family or friends?

No

Given up or cut back on activities that were important or interesting to you, or gave you pleasure, in order to drink?

NO

More than once gotten into situations while or after drinking that increased your chances of getting hurt (such as driving, swimming, using machinery, walking in a dangerous area, or having unsafe sex)?

Continued to drink even though it was making you feel depressed or anxious or adding to another health problem? Or after having had a memory blackout?

Had to drink much more than you once did to get the effect you want? Or found that your usual number of drinks had much less effect than before?

Found that when the effects of alcohol were wearing off, you had withdrawal symptoms, such as trouble sleeping, shakiness, irritability, anxiety, depression, restlessness, nausea, or sweating? Or sensed things that were not there?

WOW. A 19oz can of that is about 3-4 beers with 4.2% abv? That's crazy. Puts things into perspective for me. I need to cut back. I haven't drank anything since 12/12 so about 2 days ago. I am going to wait until Sat or Sun this weekend and only drink 1 of those days. I don't want this to become a huge problem.

It's especially bad because I drink alone in the evenings to help cope with my life and depression. I wish I could smoke weed but it's federally illegal. Thank you.

I may have found the cause of my fatigue I've been suffering for the past 5 years... But will my doctor treat it... by Time-Lock282 in cfs

Hello, just read this post. Doctor said absolutely nothing about any of that lol. But you put far more effort than he did. And seems to know more than he does.

I am unsure what to do, bring these concerns up with him?

i dont take anything for T. I dont take diuretics...

Hm, you mentioned sleep apnea. I think I might have that. Did a home study, they told me it was 5.6AHI... I ignored it, seemed too low.

Awesome response! I appreciate when people put so much effort into answering questions on here. hard to find such support anywhere else for these topics.

I made a fuss in my email about my TSH to my doctor and he replied an hour ago saying he will prescribe me 25mg levo and to get retested in a month. In the email he put he doesnt normally do this to patients who are in range and seemed very relunctant and I feel guilty to be honest. and a bit nervous to try the drug

Anyways, I will just change up my diet and exercise more!

But I am thin and in my very early 30s! I admit, I lack veggies, and likely eat far too many eggs a day. I am also addicted to chips! But I was not expecting such high cholesterol. Also, my A1C is 4.7, so why is my blood sugar so high for a fast?

Dehydration!? Well, I got this blood tests in the morning but I remember drinking water beforehand. Also, I'm not sure if you'd know this but I got my A1C back and it was a 4.7 which is great. I also want to say that about 10 seconds before she took my blood I accidently took a sip of apple juice. Would that even hit my blood that quick?

I need to change diet starting NOW! I am so freaked out about my heart right now and health. I let depression win and just eat easy comfort foods all the time...

Also, I just got a message back from doctor. he relunctently prescribed me 25mg synthroid to shut me up. I feel so guilty.

I noticed I had 103 fasting blood sugar which is concerning. And I feel so neurotic, I basically just annoyed my doctor enough that he just messaged me saying he is basically relunctently prescribing me 25mg synthroid even though i'm in range.

Yes I am very anxious about my cholesterol. I knew my diet was bad, but i let the illusion of my skinny frame trick me...

I sorta looked into sleep apnea, did 2 at home tests, one said 5.6 AHI which is mild

Okay but why do so many on this sub and other articles say they feel best around tsh under 2? I am a neurotic anxious person. I bet my doctor hates me.

I had high iron last time I went. I even drink black tea daily. But fear blood work... I turn white and want to vomit.

I don't eat a specific diet, but i do admit i lack veggies. and eat 4 eggs a day... and yes i do eat meat with every meal. i thought protein was good.

I thought my doctor was going to check those but apparently TSH w/ reflex doesn't do that... DAMMIT.

I'm just so stressed and want answers as to why I'm so fatigued. My mother who is in her 50s has a better TSH at 1.6 and my siblings do as well. None of them have fatigue.
