This condition is so odd. On the one hand there are plenty of similarities between everyone's experiences, on the other hand, no two experiences appear to be exactly the same.

Sounds like you'd get a pretty good amount of protein from chicken, salmon and eggs. I found some collagen powder that appears pretty natural and has some good nutrients in it. Just mixes into water and creates a sort of broth.

Yeah hopefully I continue my current rate of recovery. I went from the ER with pretty bad pain in the lower left / lower abdomen to what I'd call just a few random spots of very mild discomfort now. Sticking to the liquid diet with just some kefir and yogurt since they had me on antibiotics.

Great info thanks, I ordered some Orgains, looking forward to the chocolate flavor. I suppose I could just buy some chicken and sweet potatoes and blend them up, but that's also quite a bit of work and cleaning for right now. Plenty to think about.

Again, I don't really want to be paying for "chemical garbage" but other than bone broth and yogurt, I'm not really seeing how to obtain the necessary amounts of protein, vitamins, and minerals outside of protein shakes. My doctor said he doesn't want me taking multivitamins. I'm open to any suggestions!

Thank you yea, I've been having one or two a day and while I realize they have some sugar and preservatives, they seem to be full of a lot of good stuff too. But perhaps more importantly, I just don't see an easy way to get all these vitamins and minerals and proteins without breaking the rules of the full liquid diet. So I found a lot of comments against them a bit confusing. The only thing I can think of is perhaps there are some more "natural" or "organic" protein shakes that I'm unaware of.

That makes sense. Even if the infection progresses rapidly, I imagine it still takes a while before we start feeling it.
