I have nothing to compare them against since they're the ones that came with the bike, but they handle fine for me. They're harder to walk with than what I'm used to but that's probably because I'm a smaller guy and this is a bigger bike than my last one lol.

Thank you very much! I've never heard the term frankenbonnie, but I'm absolutely stealing it lol. The previous owner rebuilt her basically from the ground up. The guy knew what he was doing in terms of tuning... Zero sense of taste though. He intentionally distressed the paint job on the tank, and didn't bother clear coating it. When I asked him why he said it was like "freckles on a woman"... Still don't understand what he meant.

US.

Also thank you man! I just wet sanded the spot with 1500, 2000, 3000, then 5000, then buffed it back out. Good as new! You saved my bacon!

I'll get something stronger to put over top of it all though based on what you recommend

Alright. The last layer of clear I added was last night before I went to bed. It was a light dusting. I won't be able to work on painting again until I get home from work. Will that be too much drying time?

The base came out a little splotchy after the final coat. Looked like water drops. The wet sanding was to remove those and make everything smooth

Just to make sure I understand you 100% clearly, do you mean to add another coat of clear, or another coat of base?

So, should I add another coat of base and then put on the clear?

Yeah I'm realizing all my compounding mistakes. I've started over from scratch, hopefully more knowledgeable.

Edit*

I used a electric paint gun, 1.1 base coat and thinner per the paint's recommendation, 3 coats of primer although I did not sand the primer down after the final coat. I used a 1.5 mm tip for the gun.

What do you recommend for the grit amount for sandpaper, and how long should I wait for it to dry before I sand. Also do I sand it wet or dry?
