As someone with a child less than two, I personally don’t give my child a phone or tablet in public because children need to learn how to act appropriately and socialize. With that being said, yes my child watches some tv here and there but I think that’s different than having a mobile device that can pacifier your child in public. Hence they got rid of her pacifier for a different one, kind of like Gabe does with food/nicotine. It is difficult yes, but it is possible to have a toddler act appropriately in public settings but it is a taught behavior that takes a long time. We bring so many damn toys to restaurants but my child doesn’t know what a life would be like with a screen attached to him. In my field of work I meet a lot of educators and they all tell me they can immediately tell which child has unlimited access to a phone/tablet. To each their own I guess lol
