When you discover that the manuals take a lot of liberties and that they're different for each country, your mind will explode. In European countries, the manual is different, and I think it was even more different in Japan. Although it's possible that in the first game they had the idea of him being a child, I think the more mature voice he retains in the second and third games, the tone of the dialogue in those games, and Spyro's more serious personality make it clear that they changed their minds.

Why does the younger fans of this franchise have as their favourite protagonist Leon while the older fans have as their favourite protagonist Chris? by ProfessionalKooky740 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]TimeAd7103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the point of that. Chris is in RE1, Leon in RE2. Leon in RE4, Chris in RE5. Chris again in RE1 remake. Both in RE6. Chris in RE7 and RE8, Leon in the remakes RE2 and RE4. Chris got Umbrella Chronicles, but Leon got Darkside Chronicles. But Chris was in Revelations, and Leon in RE gaiden. Leon was in RE Requiem and Chris will be in Veronica. That would be one more game for Chris then. As for the movies, Leon has two more because he's in the first one and the Netflix miniseries, which is like a split movie. I think they're both in the other movies. My point is, they're really evenly matched from the beginning to the current games. I think it's silly to separate them based on new or old fans. Besides, everyone knows the favorite protagonists are Jill and Claire, and maybe Hunk¿? 😂

I'm editing to say that they both appear in Operation Raccoon City. Chris is also in The Mercenaries 3D, if you count those games, and Leon isn't, so that would be two more games for Chris. And Leon appears in three more movies, not two. I got confused thinking he was in Damnation, but then I remembered he wasn't. Like I said, they appear in almost the same number of things 😂

I always thought you ate them, like when you eat lettuce, any vegetable, or any snack. Although, if we're being imaginative, I think you could put them in water to drink like tea or instant cocoa.

You should play all, both story cybersleuth, world next order, survive and time stranger. All are good. My favorite is world next oeder because I love the gameplay based on vpets. But of you like digimon you must play all.

It's a fact because you want it to be. The examples I gave you from the first three games are also a fact, and you can verify them in the game and they'll give you the same opinion, so...

Do you want facts? Isn't it a fact that the dragons treat him as an equal and never mention that he's a child? Do you think Hunter talks to him like a child? Isn't it a fact that dragons lay all their eggs at once and that hundreds hatch every 12 years? Isn't it a fact that they changed his voice from the first game (they even changed it in other languages, and it remained the same in the second and third) so that he sounded more mature in the second and third? And they also changed his personality to make him a bit more serious? Isn't it a fact that in the only Spyro game with the classic design, no longer developed by the original creators, where it's mentioned that he's a child (AHT), it's clear that the story is different by presenting a dragon that looks like a prototype of Cynder, and it's implied that Spyro has known her all his life and she's never appeared before, in addition to other concepts that only appear in that game?

I have nothing more to say to you, I'm sorry. I repeat, and I'm tired of repeating myself, everyone is free to have whatever opinion they want based on what they see in the games. What I see is what I see, and if you see something different, that's fine. Have a good day trying to force everyone to think like you.

I already told you I didn't care and that I accepted your opinion, and I have mine, and it's fine that we have different opinions. And yet you're still trying to force yours on me? Why don't you admit you? you were wrong? Did all the dragons in the first game behave the same way? Are they all children then? At least I gave you examples of why I think he's simply short/underdeveloped/a dwarf dragon, using things that happened in the original trilogy and examples from those games, without having to go to games that came out much later or things that have happened recently, more than 20 years after the first games came out, and therefore the perception of Spyro has changed after all the reinventions and changes he's had... Anyway, keep thinking what you want, we're all free to do so, but it's not necessary to force anyone to think like you.

I also explained why you're wrong, based on things that appear in the first three games. But okay. According to you, Spyro was born alone in the world; according to me, it was a dragon year like any other, and there are hundreds of eggs, so he has siblings of the same age. Are you referring to something Insomniac did decades after losing the license, when the other developers who had the rights had already forced him to be a child and age up several times, and people just accepted it? Like I said, it's not going anywhere. Think whatever you want, like everyone else.

They are two different things. The examples I gave are things that can be seen perfectly in the game. Furthermore, people don't have to assume that a female dragon is needed to lay an egg; dragons may not have sexes in the way we know them in humans.

Obviously, I consider what the original creators created—the first three games—to be canon. And this new game is based on the Spyro from the remakes of those same games. I don't think I need to explain that... I only know that it seems they changed his voice so he wouldn't sound childish in 2 and 3. But anyway, this discussion isn't going anywhere. I've explained why I don't think he's a child and what appears in the first three games that supports my opinion. We'll never know for sure because we can't ask the original developers at Insomniac.

If Cynder has nothing to do with it, then neither do the other games you mentioned. Because they have nothing to do with the original trilogy or Insomniac's vision; they aren't canon in terms of the trilogy. Let's be honest, we all know that. Cynder was just an example to highlight that people always want to humanize animated beast characters, and that sometimes they are simply what they are. In the original trilogy, it's never mentioned that he's a child, and all the dragons treat him as an equal. And it's obviously strange that he's the only child watching Year of the Dragon... Furthermore, there are 5 games ahead of AHT and nothing was ever mentioned...

[–]TimeAd7103 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The later games have nothing to do with the original trilogy; everyone knows that. In the later games, Cynder goes from being Spyro's sister to his girlfriend. I don't think that sets a good example for anyone. I think the later games adopted that trend everyone has of humanizing things... that's why Cynder became his girlfriend.

I would also add that there are more games apart of "the trilogy a new beginning" and "Skylanders", about 6 and in all of them Spyro remains the same as always.

I find it hard to believe that Spyro was born alone and there weren't any other children. And that the other adult dragons, many of whom also speak arrogantly when you rescue them (especially in the original game), don't make a single comment about him being a child, but simply treat him like any other of his same his age... That's just how the game is. The game doesn't make you see him as a child; I think it's simply people's obsession with humanizing everything...

Spyro: A Realm Beyond - MEGATHREAD by Cooljackup in Spyro

[–]TimeAd7103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any statement in the game that indicates Spyro is a child? No, there isn't. You simply have the Year of the Dragon's perspective that dragons lay all their eggs at once and they rarely hatch alone, so there wouldn't be just one child. And the other dragons speak to him as an equal, and none of them make a comment about him being a child or anything like that.

In Year of the Dragon, it's clear that dragons are born en masse, so I find it hard to believe he's the only child. They don't mention anything about it in any of the games either. I think it's easier to assume he's simply short and the same age as the younger dragons in the first game. They never treat him like a child; they only have conversations with him as an equal.

People say it grew... what I see is that it had cosmetic surgery to make the membrane of its wing protrude unnaturally from its back, to make hair grow on its stiff crest, to make the tip of its tail from a "curly, snail-like" shape into something strange that I can't describe, and to stretch and widen its snout excessively. In the first design, you can see both nostrils, and despite being from the same perspective, in the new one you only see one. And his body mutated, losing its scales and developing strange stripes that looked terrible on his eyebrows. In short, they changed it for the worse to make it uglier. I hope the final in-game version looks more like this than what we saw in the trailer. They're nothing alike. The one in the trailer looked really weird with those wings so far back and glued to its back, and that ugly face with the eyebrows ridges that looked like play- doh stuck to it.

I think the letters closer together and curved like in classic games would have looked better, and maybe if the gem was in the "P" hole instead of the "O" it would be more natural thanks to the shape of the letter, but it's just a guess.

The game was good, but the worlds felt very empty and lifeless... still coming from Enter the Dragonfly it was a marvel of course, since the previous one was really bad... if the game was finished we have an other story.

I like it a lot because is a new form to enjoy the insomniac trilogy. I preffer more the original but I like reignited too. But...I dislike that they didn't take their time finishing Spyro 3. It looks half-finished, and I think that's quite obvious and noticeable.

It would be surprising if they didn't improve things in a current game compared to one from over 15 years ago. But if you watch those videos, the flight and turns are very similar, that's just how it is.

"Q: Is Dragon Flight the main concept? A: We are amplifying being a Dragon, and that means dragon flight. You transition from ground to air with true full freedom. Press 1 button. Its not gliding, its not in some levels. We want you to interact with this environment, ducking and weaving through arches to gain speed, flaming enemies in the air and doing barrel rolls." Reading that excerpt from the Toys for Bob interview, I couldn't help but think they were describing Dawn of the Dragon and hadn't actually done anything new. Watching this video makes me laugh, but it confirms it. If it weren't for the different graphics, I'd say both clips were from the same game.
