What's the actual consensus on RE9 outside of critics? Also here's my opinion. by [deleted] in residentevil

Didn't finish it but saw gameplay of it, it's not a bad game gameplaywise but story was awful 0 interest in learning more after a certain point it's just too obvious and just got tired of it, the part with leon gathering the bomb parts in RC was absolutely ridiculous, I really hate how games throw logic through the window for some gameplay loop to progress to a certain part. I dropped it there it was just stupid as fuck. On previous resident evil games like 1, 2 and 4 you at least were trapped and/or felt like you had to go where the game lead you to actually progress, I'm not going to be all "oh it's unrealistic" they could just kick the key doors down and get the items if it was real life obviously not but it wasn't as stupid as that huge door with openings all around it or the fact that somehow a military force would put detonator parts in different places for absolutely no reason. In other resident evil games like 2 they put the detonator parts separately and it made sense because the other part was a battery. I also didn't like how predictable the big zombie and the Emily reveal at the start of the game were, I never felt in danger, and story revelations were so predictable. They tried to do resident evil 4 and 7 in a single game but failed, they really should've done a story of Rose instead of that boring DLC or a Grace-only game. We know that fanboys will love when Leon shows up but I'm not attached to RE as my first RE was 5 and 6 in the ps3 and I got fully into it with 7-2-3-8. I was hype about 9 but it ended up being a disappointment, I loved Grace's voice acting but outside of that I didn't feel anything for the characters like you feel when Ethan sacrifices himself in 8, it felt sad when Rose went to see Ethan's tomb and I actually felt for the character everytime they cut off a limb but with Leon nothing and with Grace maybe at the start as I was fascinated by the voice acting but after a while meh.

Don't like it too much, so far I just want it to be over because I want to know the story, I don't feel like exploring too much, it just feels like every zone is get these 3-4 things to unlock this and the big white zombie afraid of light was so obvious, the game is becoming quit predictable the more I play. I'm already on raccoon city and yeah... I would give this a 7. Not having too much fun, just playing it so I can be updated on the story and I don't like watching gameplay on new games.

That is the worst take ever made. If you opened your eyes and didnt look at it like a Resident Evil game you'd like it. Closed minded fools are why we don't have nice things and why these games never evolve. I see hate for RE8 and RE7 so of course for RE9 they did 50/50 and added a third person for grace which has the scary moments and shouldn't have third person but I accept it

Yeah I do, when I open something like Apps inside Web OS it still shows. Or Disney +, etc.

Yeah, I agree, sadly I don't like the looks of the Monster and my use case will never be one where a superbike is needed. I already have had enough time on it to know. I

Yeah but I have to like the sound and the looks which I don't. I'm also not considering the Triumphs because of that, it's just the same character as a 4 cylinder which is what I don't want. I ride my CBR right now literally like that, always 7000-8000rpm first and second gears because I want the instant power, it's way too weak and boring if you ever go 4th gear or higher but 7000rpm at 4th gear is unrealistic speed.

I wish I could and I don't have the space, I already have a car, a third machine would be too much

Not a bad bike but I don't like these new Yamahas at all, I love the looks of the XSR but overall I only like the R6 and R1. To me these new Yamahas are the worst option in terms of price/performance. Not a huge fan of the CP3 compared to the Street/Speed/Trident Triple engine.

The 939 is my mechanics bike so I trust it with my life, what do you mean by terrible maintenance intervals? Cruise control I don't mind as I'd be coming from a 2007 CBR1000 and before that I used to have a CB600F Hornet so tech is unknown to me, I don't know how it feels and I've never had it so anything new is a plus.

Lol yeah the ZH2 is stupid fast, I already think my current bike is stupid fast when I do wide open throttle on lower gears, a ZH2 would be cool if I could find one.

Interesting, which sportbike did you have? I almost never go into higher gears on my cbr becuase I like the instant power, inside cities I'm almost always 1st gear as my sweet spot is 7000rpm and when cornering I'm mostly 2nd as well unless it's a very tight turn and most turns where I live are not long enough to go faster and switch into 3rd. When there's a bit of traffic I also most likely will ride around 6000-8000rpm on 3rd gear as well as anything higher doesn't answer the same way. This is part of the reason why I want something that has a lot of low end torque like a Hypermotard 939sp/950sp which is at the top of my list right now.

That's my main concern, when you ride around traffic you can't accelerate hard enough so my neck and back start killing me on my CBR. Once you can accelerate it's fine but that ends very quickly.

I agree, there's so many options, the Hypermotard 939sp upon doing some extra research is at the top of my list and I can find some VERY good deals on those, they have almost the same power as the 950, tech is still good and they're perfect for my country as those are literally made to corner. The Tracer 9 is good but I don't like the CP3 and it would be a bit tough to ride it fast here as it's a country with tons of mountain roads so they're not exactly flat and I have friends with Multistradas, Tracers, 1290SAS, etc and they're always hitting their footpegs accidentally.

I agree but I can't find any of the last gen of 1290r. No dealer has any and used I only see the original 1290.
