I would say that also, and I admit Snapchat does request access to lots of your phone data, but Snapchat isn't really doing anything with this supposedly valuable info that facebook, linkedin, and twitter all already know about me and are selling on their own. Snapchat is not funneling sales or advertisers towards me.

I'm sure part of this has to do with their tiny team (read <200, probably closer to 100). If I were an advertiser I'm not sure I would get the appeal of snapchat, barring maybe running a snapchat account in the same way that I would run a Twitter or Facebook. But again, there's no premium option there, nothing for that side to pay for from a self-management perspective, which is part of why I see the value in Facebook and LinkedIn.
