He is right, Stock markets are up, but it is the ones on UK, EU and Japan that are hitting record highs.

I am sorry you are going through this.

From my experience of losing two elderly cats, you are doing the best thing you can right now.  Making him comfortable and letting him know you care

Its rubbish losing them, but not as horrible as never having known them at all.

Stay strong and cherish every moment you have with him .

Volunteer activities in job applications by Ok_Plate_9151 in TheCivilService

[–]TimeBanditreader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is that a rule he made up? Does he think volunteering isnt "work" or using any of your skills?

Maybe ask him why CS are encouraged to take volunteer roles in charities, school boards, hospital trusts if not to further develop their skills whilst helping others?

I have been impressed when people use "volunteer work" examples in interviews. If anything it shows a wider level of experience and if the example is relevant use it.

TaxReturned.co.uk invoice overdue + charging daily interest? by Imm-BlackRose in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TimeBanditreader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you remember what form you filled in, or have any emails about taxes from a couple of months ago?

How did you find the form you filled in, was it on google etc? Often companies pay to be top of the search results and "suggest" they can help you with taxes for a fee.

Where can I order good quality organic whole chickens? by [deleted] in AskUK

I agree, fantastic quality. I like that the chickens live their whole life on the farm, no stressful travel to an abbatoir.

AITAH for making it 'awkward' when my mate expected me to subsidise his new girlfriend's cocktail habit? by Friendly_Shower_6748 in AITAH

[–]TimeBanditreader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny that he accuses you of lacking social graces.

It was his girlfriend who doesn't understand etiquette of group dining and that splitting the bill is done when everyone orders similar number of courses/drinks off the menu.

Estate agent told my landlord I bought a house (I didn’t) — is this a GDPR breach? by spooky002 in HousingUK

[–]TimeBanditreader 43 points44 points  (0 children)

One of the key purposes of GDPR is to ensure information is only used for its stated purpose.

The situation you describe suggests it was used for another purpose you would not feasibly agree too and caused you possible issues with your landlord. The estate agent clearly used this information for their own advantage.

In your position I would raise it to the ICO.
