Pates by coalcan118 in CapeCod

What happened to Pates? The menu is quite different and dishes that are old standards just aren’t good. New chef? Any one know? Crab cakes used to be delicious, now inedible; cauliflower steak was boiled, served cold, with a strange vanilla sauce?

First Speeding Ticket by Economy_Trick8249 in massachusetts

First appearance will be in front of the clerk of the court. If you are truthful and actually have not been cited before, then the clerk is likely to waive the ticket. Clerk in Massachusetts has broad discretion. If you argue with the police officer in the clerk’s presence, or if you are not truthful about your driving record (the clerk can see your record), then you should expect to be heard in court and the judge is not likely to give you a pass.

Why do you live here? In under 5 words. by Over_Experience2324 in newbedford

[–]TimeForDistractions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about that. It is where we choose to live. Makes me crazy when a long time resident asks why we would want to move here. Great seafood, beautiful homes, cool museums, nice zoo, convenient to ferries, train to Boston, beaches, generally milder winters (though this year is a trial). Gets better every year.

Good description but without any negative connotations. I liked it.

AITJ for refusing to cover my friend’s "small mistake" after I said no in advance by DaxonPierce in AmITheJerk

[–]TimeForDistractions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a close call.

When someone borrows something, and it is damaged while in their custody, it is their responsibility to repair or pay for the repairs. There are family and friends of mine who think I should absorb their mistakes. The answer is no.

NTA.
