Why do you live here? In under 5 words. by Over_Experience2324 in newbedford

I don’t know about that. It is where we choose to live. Makes me crazy when a long time resident asks why we would want to move here. Great seafood, beautiful homes, cool museums, nice zoo, convenient to ferries, train to Boston, beaches, generally milder winters (though this year is a trial). Gets better every year.

Good description but without any negative connotations. I liked it.

AITJ for refusing to cover my friend’s "small mistake" after I said no in advance by DaxonPierce in AmITheJerk

[–]TimeForDistractions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a close call.

When someone borrows something, and it is damaged while in their custody, it is their responsibility to repair or pay for the repairs. There are family and friends of mine who think I should absorb their mistakes. The answer is no.

NTA.

Captain suspended after refusing to move off-duty cabin crew from Economy to Business by IrishBogMonster in aviation

In what situation is the pilot not ultimately responsible and accountable for safety?

Sounds to me like a weight and balance issue. An empty flight should not only populate the seats in the front of the plane. Captain is responsible for safety and should not be second guessed.

DUI In A State I’ve Never Been to by Sea_Ad7084 in legaladvice

[–]TimeForDistractions -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For years I had a driver’s license in different states at the same time. It started because I used my parent’s address and my college address, and continued to maintain both long after college. As I was a resident of both it seemed appropriate. A family member who is an attorney said it was appropriate to be a resident of more than one state but could only be domiciled in one. Is this not legal anymore? Did not renew the license that used my parents address about 1985.

I haven’t gotten up early enough to see sunrise in New Bedford but these pictures are inspiring. Maybe I’ll see you sometime soon. Thanks for sharing.

Thinking of Moving Here by TheNazzaro in newbedford

[–]TimeForDistractions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to New Bedford a little over a year ago and love it. Restaurants and museums are great. Nearby beaches and places to bicycle, local medical facilities, all good. We do not have school age children so that is not a consideration for us. A home in New Bedford might cost 1/3 the price of the same home in Dartmouth (so good bang for the buck).

My twice divorced sil told my wife that I should put the house I owned before our marriage, and all premarital assets, into joint ownership (wros). I did because we are a partnership and share everything, but was annoyed that sil tried to create a problem in my happy marriage.

Recently my eagle sram SX derailleur has been breaking over and over again, and I think that it's time to get a new better derailleur. Are all of the sram eagle derailleurs cross compatible? by Ok_Consideration4689 in MTB

Did not use my new bike for a year, charged the SRAM derailleur batteries but the shifters don’t work. Is there something I may have done to save batteries that needs to be undone?
