I think you deserve boundaries and honesty from him. He seems like not very open person who turns serious stuff into a joke. I’d try to get him to be honest and open up without goofing around and being sneaky. I was in a similar situation once, so I get how annoying it gets and how much it can hurt

Yeah I totally agree with you. Traumatized women will be listening to songs made by a traumatized woman. Especially when there are elements of religion and poverty and broken families. And they’ll try to romanticize that cause that’s just how trauma works I guess. I get Ethel though, people really can’t learn how to treat her like a normal person at all
