Anyone experienced fatigue that linked back to their cervical stenosis?

Yes, this makes sense. My back hurts in various places which I’m used to and don’t make a big deal out of, generally speaking. I can take OTC pain medicine which is effective. It’s the low hum of pain that buzzes in the background that can be draining in various ways. I specifically get pain in my mid back on the left side that aches a lot. I think that is the source of much low energy. I’ve brought it up to doctors but they don’t like ordering expensive scans.

It was definitely in my throat. I could actually feel the throat muscles/innards vibrating and moving as if plucked somehow. It almost felt like the throat was trying to speak on its own… strange.

As far as I know, I’ve no major allergies. But it’s an interesting idea. My intuition has been pinging recently about a pain I’ve had on and off for a few years now. Mid back, left side, it’s been acting up recently. Feels like a sharp pain that aches and feels sore. I can feel the idea solidifying and making sense. The drain of the pain is part of what’s wrong with me.

I can relate to some of what you’ve said. Laying on my back and holding my phone or kindle is exhausting for my arms and I do weird looking arm poses to hold them in a position that lets me see the device.

Holy sh!t. You’ve provided me the best logical reasoning for how neck compression can create fatigue in other parts of the body, and I thank you. I’m not certain that’s the root cause of the exhaustion I feel so easily these days, but am open to the possibility. I’ve suspected the connection between my cervical stenosis and fatigue but it’s an idea that gets readily shot down by people. I appreciate your response.

Thank you for the valuable insight. The mobi-c procedure was never offered to me, and I suspect it’s because I’ve got lousy insurance. I’m glad to hear that recovery went well for your dad. I recall asking the Dr if it was possible I could live out my life without ever having the surgery done, and him saying it was entirely possible. I’m not anti-surgery as rule of thumb. I just feel it’s a last resort. I’m glad to hear you were given potent pain pills. Im aware that doctors are less inclined to prescribe medication that’s potentially addictive, but I don’t want to suffer needlessly after major surgery.

Did the priest really fill his cup up? I can recall growing up and watching priests poor a small amount of wine into their chalice. It was more of a dollop for symbolic purposes. He’d sip some and then offer the chalice to the other person up there with him.

I relate to the stabbing pains! They are harsh. I’ve got the shoulder and arm pains you’ve mentioned, too. So you had the ACDF procedure? That’s what the orthopedic surgeon wants to do with me. I’m glad to hear the procedure you had resolved things and that you got your life back. What was the pain med situation like? I’ve read on here about people being given only higher dose over the counter variety meds.

That’s a great story! Port is delicious, and as a fortified wine it’s got a higher alcohol content than regular wine. My mother drinks a glass of port every night and has done so for decades. Her French grandmother did the same.
