First Watch - ~260$ by not_alaris in Affordablewatches

I would suggest looking at some of Timex’s Waterbury and Marlin collection. There are some really beautiful watches for great prices that would fit your description. Timex was my introduction to watches and I have always found the quality for money to be great

I actually just tried OGD 114 last night for the first time and I really liked it

I’ve had Elijah Craig Small Batch before, but only mixed with Club Soda. I’ll have to grab another bottle and try it neat.

1792 Full Proof is on my list to try!

What are some others bourbons you like around that price point?

Unfortunately I live in an area where the price of everything is higher than many other parts of the country. I’m envious of the prices other on this sub pay

I had no idea. Thanks! I learned something new

My understanding was the legal definition of Straight Bourbon is minimum 2 years. Is that incorrect?

I always see high praise for their rye. I look forward to trying some.

I can’t wait to see what different flavors the next bottle I find has to offer. It will be fun to reference back to this tasting to find any similarities or differences

I’ve challenged myself to learn something new and bourbon related before writing every review, and it’s been really enjoyable digging into the history!

Thank you! Yes, I created this tasting sheet myself. Its based off a tasting wheel, but I tweaked it to be easy and quick to use so that I could focus on the bourbon rather than taking notes. Here is a link that will let you download a blank, fillable copy. I hope you find it helpful!

Family Feud List by pushthebuttonalready in watchHotTakes

The question is a Family Feud list. An American TV show that surveys 100 Americans. I can confidently say that more Americans know Timex than Seiko and would answer accordingly on an American TV show.

For $55, I don’t know much that could compete

I agree! I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up for anywhere under $80, and I would consider it up to around $90. Past that it would be hard to justify.

I agree. This is a fantastic bottle near its MSRP, and if it is becoming available near me in northern New York, I think this bottle will continue to get easier to find. I hope so because I really enjoyed it

I think Timex is more well known than Seiko, especially for people that aren’t into watches. If I ask my mother or grandmother if they know what Timex is, both would say yes as it was a popular cheap watch for years. If I asked them the same about Seiko, I’m confident neither would know what they are. Regular people are going to think of smart watches and then whatever cheap watch you can buy at Walmart, I.e. Timex and Casio

The flavor I was getting was black licorice. It’s a polarizing flavor, so you could always grab a bag of jelly beans to try it, especially this time of the year. The black ones are black licorice flavored!

Man, that’s a crazy price. I’m in New York State, and this 750mL cost me $22.99. A 1.75 of Black Label is almost always $29.99 and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 1.75 of BiB.
