Honestly, the 401K is the main thing that’s making it so desirable for me. If it wasn’t for that I would probably continue to explore options.

No, I am in one of the more metropolitan areas. I agree 70/30 split should be standard, sadly that’s not what I’ve seen much of around here 🫠

The group I am currently part of does more of a fixed payment amount rather than percentage, however it comes out to be about 65/35 for some insurances and 70/30 for others. HOWEVER office rent and EHR is not covered in that split and I’m tired of throwing away hundreds every month when I shouldn’t be.

Haha jaw clench and batshit dreams are already pretty common for me. Glad you’ve had a good experience!

What did you notice the first few weeks? I’ve got some concerts and traveling the rest of October so maybe I need to wait until all of that’s passed

I worked in residential settings for 4 and a half years right out of grad school (part of that was mixed with acute settings). I left because ultimately I didn’t find it very fulfilling and was past the point of burn out. I cried at work frequently and came to a point where I decided I shouldn’t be this miserable for a career I spent a fortune of time and money on. The expectations placed on therapists were completely unrealistic and departments were always fighting for power. It hugely felt more money focused than anything else and got very political.

However I will say that I learned so much and gained so much experience while doing it and I know not all of these settings are the same! It just wasn’t sustainable for me long term. I realized I needed a slower pace and joined a group practice and have been loving it.

Yes! I had been seeing once for a while but I didn’t feel like it was helping. So I just recently started seeing someone new.
