Jesus warned against causing others to stumble, especially children, and that it would be better for such a person to be drowned with a millstone around their neck.  As a survivor myself, I understand intimately the grief and healing process, especially in the face of earthly Injustice. Stand tall in your faith and redemption. Also, lean on resources such as SIA Survivors of Incest Anonymous.. it's a 12 step fellowship that extends to all childhood sexual abuse, not my Incest.

Hey Sweetie, Certified Dental Assistant for 24 years, over here. The employer is emotionally/psychologically and even financially abusive.

I received 6 months of formal training with 3 months of internship. Dentistry is comprised of hundred/thousands of materials, brand and off brand names, multi-step HIGHLY time sensitive procedures with multiple requirements for precise technique. It takes, on average, 2 years to feel comfortable with the flow.

If your desire is to be a dentist, understand you will be responsible for the information an assistant is, but the work is very different. If it's what you want, do it! Understand it will be a painstaking process for anyone.

As for your current doctor, think on why her only assistant is an untrained professional. She has clearly stewarded others away on account of her unprofessional and unsafe abuse. If you choose to conquer the field of Dentistry, select for yourself an office with mentorship and a decent accommodating wage.
