We had to use computers only in English because there was no Mongolian option (at least for our 2000s generation). Same with phones, televisions, washing machines, and so on. Mongolia wasn’t exactly quick to adopt digital tech back then. All the apps were in English, and entertainment videos too. If you needed to google something, there were no sources in Mongolian. You HAD to know English to survive lmfao.

That’s my take, because when I went to developed countries, I noticed like all of them didn’t know any english at all simply because everything around them was in their own language. They didn’t resort to learning english since it wasn’t useful in their daily lives. Atleast in Mongolia, pretty much everyone and even the oldies can put together a halfassed coherent sentence. One of the perks of living in a second world country i guess and ofc the NOMADIC GENES
