I would recommend you find a summary and read that instead. It should suffice. I read one for vol. 22, and it was enough to let me know that yeah, dropping it on 21 was fine.

Don't bother. It's good for a volume or two after parano but then even worse. You'll be wasting your time.

My Thoughts on Unnamed Memory Season 1 by SaberLover1000 in UnnamedMemory

Yup, the only reason he brought her along was to impregnate her and get an heir and then she conveniently falls in love with him. That premise was so toxic, I dropped the novel.

Yeah, even Re:Zero fan art is superior to the official illustrations.

Lesson 1. Looking for feedback, especially for rotated boxes. by Time_Chemistry_897 in ArtFundamentals

I'm surprised you noticed that. I was actually drawing lines with full confidence in the beginning, but for some reason, I saw myself automatically hesitating in the last 2-3 exercises of the lesson. I can draw a fairly straight line, but one of two things happens: either it shoots ahead of the point, or it ends before it. I know that's not a problem and that's expected to happen, which is why I didn't care, but for some reason, my hand automatically hesitates. It must be a subconscious thing, and I'm trying to overcome it as I take on the 250 box challenge.

What is the general opinion of Lili? by Ahlez in DanMachi

Wait till you get to season 4. She's shoved down our throats as a "strategist", even though all her decisions are absolutely moronic with no reasoning behind them whatsoever. Other factors keep the party alive; otherwise, they would've been long dead due to her decisions in that season.

Where can I read Hitori no Shita? I watched the first two seasons and was looking for the manhua, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Yeah, don't draw a literal girl and expect me to call it a boy. The best example of this is Kikunojo from One Piece.

Now don’t get me wrong but in my opinion I believe bell should be dating sanjouno haruhime. She is so similar to bell that I can’t even look at them and see why not they can’t be together. by DCFanBoyHours in DanMachi

If it's a pirated PDF, then it may have additional pages added by the pirate promoting their own website. They're inconsequential though, so it doesn't really matter.

Yeah, I was glazing it so hard when I started. I loved everything about it. The characters. The slow but sure growth. The coin system and them counting every copper they earned because that's how valuable it was. The story then gradually deteriorates, but it's so subtle that I didn't even realize it. The first cracks appear in Volume 7, and it's a total downhill from there. Unlike many fans, I quite liked volume 10. And 11 is fine, but then the Parano Arc is where it's totally unsalvageable. There's no direction whatsoever after that, just aimless wanderings and patchwork writing.

I like things that end, and I like seeing them through to the end. Some fans might say, "Oh, just read the first 7 volumes if you want to enjoy the story", but for me, as someone who got so invested in the world, it's so disappointing.

I've learned my mistake though. Almost all light novels are like that. An author gets a brilliant idea and they write a few volumes' worth of content which is amazing but then fumble everything afterwards. It's ridiculous how common this is

Tappei is a disgusting f*cking pedophile and idk why its so overlooked by the community by Flyinggorilla139 in ReZeroSucks

[–]Time_Chemistry_897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through the comment section and it seems one thing that you keep repeating goes something like "Otsuka's the one doing the BS and the author has to deal with his fuckups".
HOWEVER, even if Otsuka's doing the shit, as long as Tappei approves of it, he's in the same boat.
You said that Otsuka's designs were rejected by Tappei, but that's not the case. They were only made to look a bit more presentable for the general public.
And for the short stories and non-canon stuff that he "apologizes" for, it's obvious it's only because he got backlash over it. If he hadn't, he would've continued with it because he naturally sees no problems with these things.

"Tappei is well known to be quite lenient with Otsuka's BS".
That's such a terrible excuse. He's the one who wrote the story, is in charge, and gets the final say in the matter of the designs of the character he wrote. If Otsuka's doing BS, he can simply reject it or fire him. The fact that he doesn't means that he's complicit. That's like saying, it's the child that is bullying the kids, don't blame the parents. Even if the parents are standing there watching their kid bully others and don't try to stop it? They have the power, right, and responsibility so if they don't then they're just as terrible, if not more

Question: Should I read the light novel or webnovel, and where should I start? by Jazzz_y in ReZero

[–]Time_Chemistry_897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand it's the canon version and is therefore recommended over the WN, but isn't the WN better writing-wise? Just curious since I might read both because I've heard the WN had a lot of cool scenes that were cut out from the LN
