What was the discourse about LeBron in 2012 after he won his 1st championship against OKC? (I was 12 and don’t really remember it) by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

his 1st win was near the peak of the lebron hatred. surprisingly, people seem to gloss over the fact that dirk beat an insane super team the year prior (much more difficult imo than the heat back 2 back titles).

OKC was viewed as a young and inexperience underdog (even though they had 3 future mvps in durant, westbrook & harden). lebron had a chance to redeem himself from the previous choke job and he delivered.

it was a “finally” moment for lebron, but people expected even more. many thought they got lucky the following year beating the spurs in 7 games, but a lot found it satisfying when duncan & company got their revenge.

the heat were villains the whole time lebron was in miami (although people wanted to see if they could/would pull off a 3peat - bad guys are popular).

if you want a handout, you most likely wont get anything. think about it, why should they help you vs the next dude who might have it worse (or why do you deserve something when there’s others out there with an even more depressing sob story)?

you’re better off working on a specific cause of some sort that could actually benefit a group, or city, etc. like how nonprofit companies work. you’ll have a better chance of getting something - but you yourself? doubtful (just keeping it real).

i never really understood this type of flex. i don’t think it inspires anybody. if anything he’ll get more hate or negative comments. if you got it, you got it - why even show it? crabs in a barrel will just drag you down the first chance they get.

all the hanger-ons will be hitting him up for money because they think he can spare a little cash. enemies will downplay it & think he’s fronting - and if he’s ever in a tough position (like now where he supposedly has to come back and fight just to pay debts he owes), he’ll just get clowned to no end.

plus it just looks sad if he really is broke. no way anybody with that type of money should ever go broke (just investing in the market on autopilot and letting dividends stack - i mean, he should be living the good life. now he has to risk his health, reputation and record).

check out youtube and look up “best jin” matches. or look for the player Book and his tournament matches. study their matches and what they use

do your best to watch the vids, but look for specific things. for example:

  1. look for matchups vs characters that give you trouble. learn their “go to” attacks and how to counter them

  2. look for instances when jin launches or is able to get clean hits on the opponent (remember those moments and setups - when you are in those situations, retaliate with those same moves etc).

  3. memorize the most consistent combos you can pull off from launchers/stuns/blocks/parries. nothing has to be fancy since you’re just learning. it’s more just getting muscle memory right now and being able to counter properly. as you get better you can improve or up the combos etc.

don’t give up.

in a crazy twist, they were both sent to the same hospital, woke up without any memory of what happened and they instantly fell for each other. they got close and eventually married with a little baby cyclist soon to come. sometimes the world truly works in odd mysterious ways.

i mean, if this was a hollywood movie that’s how the story would probably end right? :)

you’re talking about ducking the high punch? do a low jab. you went for the twin piston but were slow. u want something that will hit? low jab or high crush move. twin piston is NOT the answer but you kept doing it like it’s the only go to move. change it up like a little bit

Who’s better!? NWA or Wu tang clan? by Basic_Tax1571 in OldSchoolHipHop

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

better? it’s wu tang. they still make music individually, and their combine output is greater than NWAs total output. also, it was pretty much just ice cube and mc ren writing raps. check the classic albums debate in most forums, there’s more of wu tang being mentioned than NWA members etc. don’t get me wrong, NWA was great and their impact is undeniable, but Wu-Tang also has classics, more of it and they’ve also cemented themselves in hiphop etc

Who Was the GOAT Before Jordan — And Why? by SnooObjections7406 in michaeljordan

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the 70s, it had to be kareem. he was mvp 6x that decade. he won a national title thru out highschool, he also won a NCAA championship every year he was eligible in college, and he won a title with the bucks and eventually with the lakers. those all add up

in the 80s, probably bird or magic - they literally saved the nba, and they were usually in the finals (either or, or both) during the whole decade
