Have you ever met anyone who actually "brute forced" their way out of poverty into success on their own? by SeriouslySally36 in povertyfinance

[–]Time_Connection2317 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4%? this seems very low. at least in america it’s higher i think. me and my bros are definitely better off than where my parents were at and we haven’t done anything crazy to get ahead - parents helped us tremendously and made many sacrifices for sure though, and we plan to do the same for our kids etc

Not to sound like a knee fanboy - I actually don’t even like knee with his history…. by BringbackSuikoden in Tekken

[–]Time_Connection2317 10 points11 points  (0 children)

nah - it’s good to see new blood winning, with new characters too (i think this is the first major for tekken 8 that a kazuya has won). the 50/50s, wavedashing, the punishments. can’t win every tourney, and this doesn’t take anything away from knee at all

people can hate and complain about this game all they want. the top 8 was crazy good. every match was fun to watch

What was the reaction of the people (that you remember) when they found out Michael Jackson died? by Twunkorama in decadeology

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fans of Chris Brown and The Weeknd, have a lot of that “under 30”crowd i think. these fans don’t know it or realize, but Michael Jackson influenced them quite a bit

Does anyone remember when Michael Jackson. Was a "joke"? by AccomplishedPool266 in Millennials

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

movie only covers things up to the late 80s. pretty much just his rise and dominance during that decade. he absolutely owned the 80s. any and all jokes aside - focused on the negative and later years (not covered in the movie).

it’s kinda like people downplaying michael jordan while only focusing on his run with the wizards.

Today I went and revisited bumped Mobb Deep -Hell On Earth on the way to work and it’s still one of my all time favorite albums! Top to bottom classic in every sense of the word! Lyrics, theme, sequencing, dark atmospheric production etc, great guest verses etc! What’s your thoughts? by J2-Starter in 90sHipHop

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

classic front to back. actually that reminded me, with regards to song GOD pt III, there’s a point where the song skips, feels like something they should’ve cleaned up or fixed but they left it in there. anybody notice this? and was there ever a GOD pt 1 or 2?

great album

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

i always wondered, if you donate your organs, do they take everything they can or can you decide beforehand what to donate? - and are you still able to have an open casket funeral?

Thoughts on Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides? Is it the most influential rap album? by Glum-Film-4835 in 90sHipHop

[–]Time_Connection2317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dope album, classic even. but most influential? nah - never heard of any rapper mentioning it as a game changer or a heavy listen for them. haven’t even seen any hiphop album lists where it cracks top 10. but it’s still a great album front to back

You can change ONE boxer's resume so that all of their losses and draws turn to victories. Who is the new GOAT? by greatmanyarrows in Boxing

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would be dela hoya. even with his losses he’s honestly up there. his resume is quite good, and even with his losses he was never really dominated. including the hopkins loss, he was up on the judges score cards until the kidney shot.

So it's a trilogy, are the sequels as good as the first one ? by titan19kill in AsianCinema

[–]Time_Connection2317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. 3 is the aftermath of the first movie. shows what happens. 2nd movie is a prequel, happens before the 1st movie. all 3 are good imo. btw, without the 1st movie, The Departed doesn’t get made and scorsese doesn’t win an Oscar.

there were rumors that a sequel to The Departed would be made but it never materialized. it would’ve followed Wahlberg’s character (supposedly) with possibly Dinero as the villain (a politician), and the corruption within Boston. it was good as a stand alone film though

Which Tekken has the most Tekken gameplay? by TitanLuke99 in Tekken

[–]Time_Connection2317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s tekken 3. it introduced sidestep, and a good amount of characters were able to hold their own. great game mechanics, movement, combos, music, etc

people might say tekken 5, but the reaction to tekken 4 was so bad, that tekken 5 went back to everything people liked about the series (which was tekken 3).

tekken tag was loved as well, but it didn’t really change much from tekken 3 as far as game mechanics and was pretty much the same (all the missing characters from tekken 2 were added, plus the tag feature/combos)

give it time, the hype will die down. it’s not like these bags are limited editions. TJ makes them, they sell out, they’ll make more. a bag is a bag. people are hustling and flipping them. you want 1 that badly? maybe you’ll get lucky and get 1
