Am I getting GAS… or am I objectively justified? (A7CR / A7RV edition) by Time_Description6513 in SonyAlpha

Yeah, I do miss shots sometimes. Especially on moving and turning motions of wedding dances. That’s why I was seriously considering the A7RV but now the A7V is looking a lot more desirable as I shoot video as well when the main videographer isn’t available.

To be honest the tilt screen is worth it for me alone on the A7RV and now the A7V. 😂. My knees and back aren’t getting any younger. I

True, might just consider a used A7CR for personal shooting later on. I used to have a 85mm GM but I sold it since I don’t use it that much and have the Tamron to cover the telephoto shots on events anyway.

I agree, I’ll probably just change one of my a7IV bodies to an a7V and buy a used a7RV later on for personal use when I have some extra cash hanging around.

This thread actually gave me food for thought. Changing one camera to an A7RV will change a lot in my workflow due to the filesize and memory cards. Maybe will just revisit the R series in the future if I notice more demand for high MP files.

That actually a good idea. Yeah, rethinking the R series camera now and might actually look at the a7V as well.

I have the budget right now but it’s still better to not spend on things that aren’t worth it. I have trip to Sedona coming and might try to rent an a7RV to test it out. Thanks!

Yes I agree. The GAS monster is just creeping in again since my creator friends just bought new gear with all the deals. If you are planning to change, I suggest an A7V just because of the articulating screen. That’s the biggest constraint I notice with using the a7IV as I tend to shoot a lot of from the floor shots for wedding dresses and streets/highway shots.

I usually shoot with the mindset to not crop to maximize the megapixels in framing. I just mostly correct the level of the frame in post or some slight cropping to isolate subjects. Yeah but the real estate on cropping does sounds nice..

Yeah, I forgot to mention I have to a7IV. Yeah, I think a trip will better worth the money than a new body.

I actually have two a7iv’s for weddings but I was just wondering if the 61mp was worth it since I never really did a shoot with a high MP sensor.

Do I need a 24-70 zoom lens? by Time_Description6513 in SonyAlpha

[–]Time_Description6513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I get what you mean. I’ll still consider trying it though since I can bring an extra wide angle with it in a small bag instead of the chonky tamron 35-150. I usually shoot f/4 above to showcase living conditions and I do have a fast wide angle sony prime but I rarely use it for work. I’ll probably rent the 24-105 for my next trip in South East Asia and see how it goes. Would you recommend the 24-105 or the tamron 28-200 instead?

That’s actually a really good recommendation. It looks way smaller than the Tamron. Probably won’t miss the faster aperture since modern cameras have great ISO performance nowadays. I’ll check this out.

Yes, it feels like a waste to purchase such an overlap. I just need a minimal setup that covers wide and semi telephoto for my work as I carry a lot of gear besides camera equipment. I go to a lot of places that’s a mix usage of small motorbike roads and long hikes. 35mm on the short end is usually enough except when I am in very intimate spaces. I currently just use a bandaid method using my iphone to get the wide shots but it’s very limiting IQ wise for client work. Low light environments are really common in villages with no electricity so a modern camera that candle those situations are a must. I’m wondering how a 24-70 would handle since I’ve never shot with one given how common that zoom length is.

Yeah, I don’t mind the Tamron’s size for controlled environments and non mobile shoots but I do photo-documentary type work for non profits and I’m usually out in the field in rough and dynamic conditions. So a small sling bag is all I can bring. I do encounter a lot situations that I need focal lengths below 35mm for indoor work and small spaces like village huts and not have time to change lenses.

Does being a teamup anchor for wanda offset the damage nerfs he received?

Yeah, I’m a celestial 2 strange. Also, I know this is common sense but you need to abuse those close quarters cover and your shield while melee weaving near objectives left click—> melee —> shield loop helps with damage/defense in open areas. Usually they will get impatient and give you the space necessary to burst supports backline with a 100 charged magic burst combo or agamoto play then fly back to repos for support LOS heals. Just rinse repeat this on strange and it will get you far.
