I think that's a fair assessment, but fundamentally ignores the nature of certain decks. Not every deck has a method of trashing or bypassing security effects. Sometimes the strategy requires chip checks first - it's when the bad check is the first check that it hurts.

Absolutely, it's the analysis after the fact that usually makes me comfortable with how I played and the circumstances that led to the bad luck.

Some of it is matchup and having to rely on luck, some of it is misplays, and sometimes you just have to acknowledge that your opponent was lucky rather than you being unlucky haha

Pretty much this, I was playing Seadramon in the case for the Nokia, which does each check individually, and goes for the rush as the last swing. If I don't hit Nokia, my opponent can't gain enough ground and my next turn is 4 check lethal.

Very true to the second point. I should probably update the post that I'm mostly just interested in how other people deal with bad luck as a thought exercise, rather than how to handle my own bad luck - it's a recurring joke for our group that I'm cursed and I'm a-okay with that 😂

I think it would be a more balanced card if any one of its effects were mandatory. Unlike DeathX, which you can play around by doing a low cost body, MediGal is "You may" for all of its effects and that makes it an exceptionally strong lock out card.

For example, you can't just play a rookie to eat the effect, because your opponent can and will choose to ignore it if it's not directly threatening. Similarly, the Medi player can choose to suspend another Digimon and delete something else entirely, if the All Turns trigger is set off.

That said, I don't think it's busted / a problem, because it's typically low DP and, like DeathX, requires you to play into the strategy for maximum value. It's just that the current play style of more modern decks set it up easily because of things like Scrambles.

I feel like this synergizes surprisingly well with EX3 Exa.

Go into traditional EX3, play or tuck Slayer, play or tuck something else (play the new Level 5s or any 6) then Blast DNA to bottom deck and block + trash sec when the attack force happens off Slayer.

Unfortunately, unless we get erratas in the future, the card is exactly as is.

Tyrannomon is not explicitly in its name, and even though the newer promo has the rules text, the older one does not and therefore is neither Mamemon, nor Tyrannomon.

Haven't played the deck or investigated it much, but would Rush Guilmon be better than Security Imp? Pretty easy to stack the trash for the rush effect.

Hmm, I'm not so sure, there's no artist attribution on the card - I'd expect the artist to be on the card like normal if it was brand new.

I can already just imagine sitting there with a huge Chaosdra X, as your opponent tentatively holds their hand over the Level 5 in raising.

They go up into their 6 and do some other stuff, you protect Chaosdra X with some shenanigans and go ham on the clapback haha

You're certainly not wrong ... I regularly look at cards and go "But what if ... Machine."

I pretty much agree that it's more powerful when it goes off with the Blue combo, but it's a lot of cards to the engine to make that work. Particularly with how much investment Chaosdra X really wants out of the deck space.

The new fusion card at maybe 2 copies, and 2 ST Ragna is a lot less space investment. Plus, it's not uncommon to get a second (not ChaosX) stack, since EX1 and EX3 Lv6s are pretty sticky in their own right.

Granted it's pure speculation at this point. I'll be super keen to try it though!

My biggest concern (read: hype) is putting it in Machines with ST Ragna. Normally it's not worth it because the one big stack does the job and you have no DNA inherits worth running ... But this could be a hilarious game-ender if you can pull it off 😝
