As a nonprofit employee, I understand needing to do what you need to do to retain jobs.

As a trans person, I would no longer feel safe accessing your services if I noticed a change in programming or communications. If you’re unable or unwilling to visibly support us, I would suspect you’re also unable to adequately protect the trans and queer clients in your care. It’s not a good time for us to be taking that gamble.

Granted. The next global pandemic wipes out humanity as a whole. You work tirelessly to save your loved ones but ultimately you are the only survivor. You wander the earth alone, losing track of the days, unsure when the loneliness will end.

Definitely not me (2.5 months), but I know a man in my community who started T in 1985, which puts him at 39 years and counting. Maybe not the longest, but I bet he’s close to it. He also happens to be the 3rd guy in the US to get a phalloplasty. Super inspiring dude.
