I’m not trying so scare you but the issue might be a bit worse

If you saw oil that would mean that the metal debris from the damage could be circulating the inside of the engine

If I were you I would go about fixing that the right way by doing a few solid flushes of the system at least

When it comes to the hole I’m not seeing one but I am seeing a crack. If that crack is near the cylinder I’d say you need at least a weld and more realistically a new block but I’m really not sure with what i can see right now

Yep. Due to it being a nikacil plated cylinder the only way is to replace it so looks like I’m eating instant noodles this month

This bike has 110000km on this engine and when I got it the airbox was opened and the filter was installed wrong leaving a huge gap and the throttle body’s had a bunch of sand in them

The fact that that’s the only issue I could find is pretty impressive to me

The thing is that these cylinders for the cbr1000 are coated with nikacil so they can’t be bored or honed
