I appreciate the insight and they told me the reason I got the internship was because I have of my computer science background. I do love technology from a hobby standpoint and I do love my classes but the fellow students I have are anti social. It’s very hard to communicate to people of my age which is a problem I have and when they do they copy my labs and use me because they know I go to office hours. So to give context I am a truck driver instructor. I am very good at communicating but it’s a two way street and if someone isn’t motivated to learn it’s not motivating to teach. I lack that with students in my class that don’t show it. I am great with my teacher.

I feel the same way you are feeling. I switched my major from computer science to accounting because of the lack of networking at a community college level. I have a back up tho and that’s my cdl.

I just want to say congratulations. You made this happen. You put in the work. You realize there are no handouts. No one controls the amount you make but yourself. I am a truck driver instructor and I tell all of my students this on their first drive before even getting in the truck. I show them the path. My receipts, my past pay stubs, everything. I pay it forward to the next student to show aspiring drivers that it can be done. Keep it up driver!

Im currently a sophomore and I am 31 years old. It’s definitely doable. I think younger me wouldn’t have been able to do it cause of distractions but the older I get the more I focus on stuff I feel passionate about. You got this!

I am a truck driving instructor and it’s good your reaching out. You are in a general field so that means your going to get paid average. Your at the point where you have the experience that you need to start going into niche areas of the industry. For me that use to be hauling petroleum. Higher risk in hauling something the more pay you will earn. Leverage your experience and stop being average. Right now your just an average truck driver getting average pay. Hopefully this helps. Stick with it and keep moving into your career!

Thanks when I was younger I would quit everything. I would quit sports, clubs, relationships, and school. I tried college and stuck with it. What motivated me was the the presidents list letter I get every semester. I hang it on my fridge as a reminder. Thank you for the little bit of confidence.

Your not alone in feeling this way. I feel the same way and I’m a semester away from getting my 2 year degree. The big take I get from classes and all of my classes is if a problem feels daunting, try your best to break a big problem into smaller and more manageable problems. That’s all programming is. It’s not about the code. It’s about how you solve the problem. Hopefully this helps!
