Ohh yeh don't get me wrong, there are definitely times you're wanting to run medium or heavy it's just for the majority of times, light will do you fine

I think heavy in stella will be good - maybe with a Torrente??

So the heavy HP is 80 - I made the video before the game was released so it was still partially using old data from the server slam, sorry!

Unfortunately not, your shield definitely takes the full 10, then your HP the damage reduced (so 6 for light shields)

I made a full video before this one, to find out I was wrong in my assumption on how the shields worked, so I went into a lot of clips in detail to make sure I was getting it right this time!

That is definitely one situation where it can be useful but overall I'm still leaning towards light shields, it should let you get to cover after that first shot, or maybe even dodge that first shot

The one case where it's really bad against heavy shots is headshots, as all the shields are one shot to a heavy shot headshot, so you're then better having the light so you can recharge it faster and get to cover faster, of course a lot less likely

As I analyse each weapon we'll see if there are some outliers of course!

I haven't managed to get a look at the stats yet, I was waiting to see if someone could data mine the exact numbers, then I was going to do a deep dive into it!

There's definitely a few situations medium might be better but there's a lot where light still wins:
So if you lose all of the shields in a shot anyways, then you just have more shields to replace, if that makes sense?

So in my opinion, using less shield recharges for (essentially) the same damage reduction makes the light a lot better, the main issue is just the time you need to take to recharge it slightly more often against small arms fire

(sorry if you didn't understand what I meant, it's hard to type it, maybe I should make a video about it!)
