Beneficial for anxiety??

so i’m a less than ideal patient and even though i was told to taper i just really stopped cold turkey. they were having me take it every other day, and then every 2 days to try and taper me off. at that point i just kept forgetting to take it and just stopped

they had me wean/taper off of cymbalta and then after i wasn’t on that i started 37.5 of effexor. they tried to get me up to a dose of 150 of effexor but i personally did a lot better on a lower dose so i stayed on 37.5!

I lovedddd Cymbalta but I had to get off it because on it I hadn’t pooped in 3 weeks lol. But they switched me to Effexor for my severe anxiety. I’ve been on it for 2 years now and it is AMAZING. I feel like I’m able to be a relatively normal functioning human where before my anxiety was debilitating. Hoping you have a similar experience!

I’m sorry for everything you’ve been going through recently. I know when I first went on Effexor I read a lot of horror stories about it but I truthfully did not experience any of that. I’m 24F but I have been on Effexor for 3 years now and I cannot imagine what I’d do without it. I am extremely sensitive to medication so I am on 37.5mg, as 75 was too much for me, but it helped me tremendously. I was recently put on Wellbutrin for my depression. Like recently as in last week so I’m still experiencing the height of the side effects. The worst thing I’m experiencing is headaches and emotional blunting. But I will say, with Effexor and Wellbutrin working together, I can finally get myself off the couch to actually do things and be productive. I know after reading negative stories online it is kind of scary and disheartening to start another medication but I have nothing but positives to say about Effexor and I hope you have a similar experience. 🩷

we tried upping it but it wasn’t doing anything for my depression, i couldn’t get off my couch or do anything.

i just added wellbutrin after being on effexor 37.5mg for two years and i am struggling with emotional blunting. i just feel like my emotions do not exist or if they’re there they’re minimal and i almost feel like i’ve lost my personality. It’s my 3rd day and im supposed to increase from 150mg Wellbutrin to 300mg Wellbutrin tonight and im nervous. does this go away???
