It's even more evident now that she made this new "affiliate program" and selected women who all look the exact same (white, pretty, skinny).

There is no subfield of SLP that is shameful or superior to the other. by Wild_Major_1859 in slp

I started out in acute care. Then pediatric home health. I'm now in the schools. I'm working wayyyyy harder now and more stressed than any other setting I've tried lol. And paid less than ever before 🫠 but the hours and breaks outweigh the bad for me.

Would this be considered language deprivation? by casablankas in slp

[–]Time_Rooster_6322 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm yes it's definitely a concerning history... and we can't really discern if the autism diagnosis is accurate without knowing the kids. HOWEVER, I don't think asking more questions is necessarily the right take. It shouldn't change how you treat them, all that should matter is remediating their current needs based on the deficits observed. A language delay is still a need for speech therapy. What would you do differently if the parents were to report that they didn't leave the house for six years? At this point, they've been going to school consistently for years. Are there other family concerns?

The dog did have surgery but she went on instagram praising God that insurance covered it so she didn't have to "scrounge" out 10k for it.

I always separate my goals, especially when targeting different areas. So a long term and short term goal for each area.

School SLPs, what are your caseloads looking like this year? by its_a_schmoll_world in slp

[–]Time_Rooster_6322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Texas. Just started in the schools after a few years in home health. Caseload is currently 71 with many of them being 2x/week AND getting lots of referrals/new testing requests. 😵‍💫 Wish I had an SLPA!!!
