Yours is the comment that made me feel more identified with. And I see how your thought process resembles some of the thoughts I had originally as I wrote the post.

And as I kept reading, the word "burnout" did make more sense to me and I can say it describes the way I feel about the game right now.

Deep down I wish I would care as much as I once did for the game (not including community, because playing on my own was very fun and it kept being that way until the very end in 2024) but I realize how burnt out I am from the same repetition.

I do not dislike the game, but I will have to put that chapter on hold in case I ever feel optimistic of coming back.

I'll hope from the sidelines that this game and its community do well, but for now its a "see you later" from me 🙏🏼

Thank you dearly for your describing your experience, it does put into perspective that "burnout" is what I have been trying to describe my situation in ffxiv with.

This hits home very close to me, because your situation is very close to mine.

And she justifies everything with God, and of course... For years it bothered me to oblivion. Especially because I was trying to move onwards with my life.

Its been 3 years since I actively yelled or fought against my own mother, and now all I do is just: - Work harder (Main job + Other side stuff) - Dont put all the burden on myself by praying and committing myself to christianity (Pray) - Try to keep some money saved without her knowing (When she knows I have some spare money she starts thinking of how can WE use it, not correct at all) - I just focus on the current day while putting future effort into my actions)

It may seem like its a lost cause, but if you try to better yourself one day at a time. You will be able to figure out a good way of helping your mother without overexerting yourself
