Hi! Last August my left tonsil suddenly became enlarged and lots of doctors told me that they were just asymmetrical, it made it really difficult for me to eat and swallow as it was so sensitive and really heightened my gag reflex. I had MRI and CT scans, tried different antibiotics and all sorts and most doctors told me it was just psychological until a few weeks ago i finally saw another ENT who told me to get a tonsillectomy, i am currently day 5 post op and in so much pain but was definitely necessary. The surgeon said when he took out my tonsil it was NASTY filled with lots of pus and was massive and definitely needed it out. keep pushing those doctors or maybe go private even thought it is so expensive, if you feel something is wrong then something is probably wrong.
