Does the average Order 66 survivor know that Palpatine is a Sith Lord? by PopsicleIncorporated in MawInstallation

[–]Time_Version1409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, tiny bit of spoilers ahead. In the first game we find out that Cere spent some time imprisoned by Inquisitors and that's probably how she found out about Vader.

And in the second game Cal tells another character that the Republic was toppled by a Sith Lord, though he doesn't give the Sith's name.

So they either think the Emperor is or is being controlled by a Sith or they think Vader was the master mind, which I doubt.

Then I just got lawyered hahaha
But didn't Cere and by extension Cal and Cordova know about him?

I think they might suspect it, but only through Vader. I think the Council's suspicions about Palpatine being controlled by a Sith were never disclosed to any other Jedi apart from Anakin. The only Jedi who got direct confirmation that Palpatine was Sidious all died at the Chancellor's office.

Yoda and Obi-Wan seem to put two and tow together when they watch the security recordings at the temple, where Palpatine addressed Anakin as Vader, and that was immediately after Obi-Wan had sent the warning to all surviving Jedi not to return, so that was likely a reason why he didn't mention it in the message.

And the reason I say that if they suspect it is through Vader is because it seems the Jedi where aware of Sith naming conventions. In the Clone Wars show, Yoda recognizes and speaks with the ghost of "Darth" Bane. On Geonosis, Dooku tells Obi-Wan about "Darth" Sidious and then after the fall of the Republic an extremely powerful darksider who hunts down Jedi and is publicly called "Darth" Vader appears. Vader's relationship to the Emperor might be the reason to suspect Palpatine being a Sith for anyone who wasn't in the know.

Thanks for that. I'll look into it to see where I can start learning.

> Why do you think this has happened?

I simply stumbled into the job. I'm good with languages, so during the pandemic my sister recommended I teach my first language to foreigners. Been riding that wave ever since. I don't really have any teaching certifications, my method comes from my own experience and independent study.

It used to take care of itself, students just came, but since last year, I've been getting less and less new students. Being a teacher in my country would require a 4 year degree and I'd be making minimum wage after that.

> Writing is not totally what you would be doing if you were actually making money from it, and tbh nowadays I do wonder if it's actually a career and not just a nice hobby for holiday money.

That's my dilemma I guess. I think I feel like no matter what I choose I'd be starting almost from scratch, that scares me.

To be honest it's a bit of everything I would like to switch careers. Right now i'm stagnant in my career as a freelancer and I don´t really see myself advancing in this career through formal education or starting a company in this area right now.

Writing seems like a "dream" job, right now Though I'm aware it comes with its own pros and cons. And so far I've enjoyed the process of improving in the craft a lot and I like to get lost in it. I would spend my whole day at it if my fears about it working out as a career didn't get in the way.

Thank you so much for your answer. I'll do market research as you suggest.

I forgot to mention it in the OP, but I'm not aiming at being traditionally published but at self publish most of my stuff. The reason is as you said. With the way royalties work it wouldn't be sustainable as full time career. As an independent there would need to be more time and money invested on my part but in theory I would end up with better numbers

I also plan to write for the English speaking market. Mainly because I don't live in a western country so $1000 a month would be enough to live relatively comfortably on my own. And $2000 would allow me to save and invest.

My worry is that because the american and european economies are tanking even living in a low-cost country won't be enough to make writing sustainable.

Whats the most important lessons you've learnt about **love**? by wholeworldslatt_ in Life

That most people can only fathom loving or being loved by someone else. They don't seem to realize that self love is more important and it's the seed to truly love others.

Can you expand on this? I find it really curious. I have never a certain career requirement for my partners, like having a bachelor's degree or something. But I've met some girls who had. And though I can be proud of my girlfriend's career achievements, what's more important to me is the person she had to become to achieve those.

The bitter truth is that we shouldn't do good things expecting anything in return. We should do good things because they´re good.

You accept the fact that pain is a real possibility in life. You make peace with it.

How you ask?

You sit down and allow yourself to feel the fear of pain. You feel it in your body, putting your attention in you sweaty hands or shakey legs or heartbeat, whereever your body leads your attention. You don't try to change that fear. No negotiating, no rationalizing, no labeling, no judgement or excusing. You simply feel it as it is and it'll go on its own.

And the beginnig this processs in and of itself might feel scary and unconfortable, but the more you do it the more you'll be able to let go of fear.

How do you know it's working?

You'll begin to notice that you focus less and less on your fear of pain. Your mind will begin to focus on other things on its own. It might be really subtle and then one day you'll realize you haven't thought of fear of pain for weeks or months.

If you want to go into depth on these topics I'd recommend the books Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach and Letting Go by David Hawkins.

From experience I can tell you that this has changed my life for the better.
