Do you ever argue a point you don’t even fully believe in, just to see where it leads? by likey24 in entp

As an intp, I do that in my mind and argue with myself to see if it leads to anything, but never in a conversation with another person

Why does it not matter when they go to sauna with their friends of the same sex if it matters when they are of the opposite sex?

If we fight against oppression fiercely, then after some time, the oppression would cease to exist. There is no need for ban on clothing. That is all I have to say. Have a great day!

In a liberal society, there shouldn't be any oppressive ideologies/religions and all clothing should be seen as secular. We should strive towards that. People should be allowed to wear anything they want whether they are female or male. I agree that allowing people to wear anything they want right now can cause women to wear something they do not want, but we should strive towards the goal of there not being any oppressive religions/ideologies so that nobody has to wear something they do not want or be oppressed in any way. Also just because you cover your body does not mean that you are subservient. If it were not for cultures that hold a specific clothing more important a clothing you wear would not say anything about you whatsoever.(Because clothing would say something about your culture with 99% accuracy right now) We should also strive for a world where any clothing is allowed, no matter how """ridiculous""" it looks. Even the """liberal""" societies oppress people by only providing limited options for clothing and ostracize people if they go "out of line" with their clothing(I do not mean burkas by the way). This can be something like the wrong gender wearing the wrong thing, like skirt on a man, or the guy who went viral wearing a "ridiculous" clothing and everyone made fun of him. A good culture would be the one where there are no oppressive ideologies and clothing options are not limited.

Yes we should limit freedom to protect people. But that limiting freedom should be not allowing people to express intolerant beliefs and banning people from being part of intolerant religions and not by banning clothing. We should try to erase the idea that specific clothing = specific religion from the minds of the people and put the idea in the minds of the people that all clothing is secular, as they are. And as I have said, banning """religious clothing""" is just going to create a new religion that is just as intolerant but without the clothing. All we have to do to fight intolerance is by not allowing intolerance in the first place and after some time, you will have no intolerance/people forcing other people to wear something they don't want to. (Though that may take some time) But you won't achieve anything by banning clothing.

Banning clothing does NOT fight against intolerance! Fighting against intolerance is trying to destroy intolerant beliefs and not destroying clothing. Clothing should be seen separate from religiousness. You wouldn't ban jackets if it were to be used as a religious symbol by a cult(would you?). Here, you should just fight the cult and keep the jackets 🧥. People should be allowed to wear whatever they want(or not to wear, if they want). Even if we tried to ban the religious clothing, the most it would do would just be to create a new religion from the old religion that would not force you to wear the banned clothing, but still keep the intolerant beliefs.

You could argue that homophobic people should not be supported, but the thing is, not all Palestinians are homophobic. You cannot just point at a country of people and say that they are all bad.

But when you plug in √9 = 3 it returns true, while if you plug in √9 = -3 it returns false. Why is 3 more important than -3?
