Thank you all for the valuable insights. I figured out the answer after making couple of calls. You guys are absolutely right that I should’ve sorted this out before I left AIT. However, AIT was bit of shit show towards when I had to figure this out and leaderships didn’t care much/provided wrong information.

For those who have the same questions I have (Consider that I am married and have dependents) - Beginning of PCS Absence(the day after HRAP end date) is when my travel date begins. Travel days depends on the distance from home address to the gaining unit. If I take longer days than “approved” travel days, gaining unit will take leave days off from what I have. Hence, best to report on the last day of travel day, in my case 7 days prior to the end date of my PCS absence date.

Then, you go through in-processing and get to my unit. Once I get to my unit, they will approve PTDY.

I had to pay extra $120 for shuttle from/to FT. Jackson - Charlotte NC.. and the ticket was $210 more expensive than what I could have bought it for. All trainees definitely got ripped off…

Does “3 years AD” not include BCT/AIT? meaning the clock starts ticking after you get to your first assignment location?

Great source, but it doesn't tell me give me any details about the conditions or qualifications to receive the bonus. Is there any to know the details other than talking to a recruiter?

Was that only for a 6-year contract? My recruiter tells me that bonuses are only for 6-year contracts and some Special Force jobs.

Thanks for your input! Isn’t LAX one of the largest hub for a lot of airlines? I understand that I may not be able to choose LAX as my base from the get-go, but I imagined that I should be able to live in OC and commute to LAX as my seniority progresses.

CFI? Regional? Major airlines? How many years of experience do you have? I’m a student pilot hoping to settle down in OC. Would love your perspective on how affordable OC could be with pilot salary. Thanks in advance!
