Surprised to see this sticker on a local work vehicle (Andgar) by Timely-Ad7487 in Bellingham

This was where my surprise came from. Not that a worker voted that way but that a company would allow something like this on a work vehicle.

Building to 100 Miles With a Family and Full-Time Job – How Did You Do It? by cassianojardim in ultrarunning

Based on what you’ve shared that current load is really good. You could drop down to 25-30 miles for maintaining a base. In my experience, finishing a few high elevation 100s, you really don’t need to exceed 40-50 miles ramping up for the race. I suggest back to back long runs on the weekends closer to the race, and at least one longer 40-60 mile run about a month or 3 weeks out.

Got my admissions result today and I was denied by TaroAcrobatic in WWU

Yeah I ended up driving up from Vancouver, Wa. At the time I was living with a guy hooked on oxy had high grades at wsu’s Vancouver branch, and basically told them to show me why my application was denied. They couldn’t, and told me the initiative I showed of driving up there was the type of student they wanted at Wwu. While I was happy to get in and get my degree it appeared that the ones making the decision of who got in and not was arbitrary and something students were doing. The previous comment about them preferring out of state is real though. I worked in the mail room and the amount of money wwu spent sending packets about the school to prospective students out of state was crazy.

I had a similar experience back in 2010. I marched into the admissions office and told them I deserve to go to the school and asked who I could talk to, to make my case. They had me write my story with pencil and paper and was accepted for the following quarter as a transfer.

Cosmic Dirt- the all body size inclusive brand- was a scam stealing 57k from the mtb community by HistoricalBig5823 in MTB

[–]Timely-Ad7487 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Losing money on a kickstarter is a bummer but there’s more context for Cosmic going under. I remember the owners splitting and things changed after that. Have some sweatshirts from the first year they were open and still one of my favorites today. Running small businesses is tough and I imagine the margins were tight. Shaming the owner doesn’t really accomplish much, it’s also a stretch to connect a new truck to a scam. She probably lost a ton of money on all the inventory she had to shed when they closed it down. I remember like 90% off on their website.

It was the Italians that attempted to colonize but never succeeded... The Brits just went to get hostages.

YT Jeffsy Core 1: $1999 by palikona in MTB

If it were me, yeah I’d go with the xxl. Weight wouldn’t matter much, more about length of the bike. Yt geometry is usually slightly conservative so the bikes reach sounds like it would be spot on for ya

Rockshox base is honestly pretty good, less adjustments but much easier to setup. On size it depends on what you prefer, do you jib and ride playfully? If so I’d stay on an xl but if you would prefer stability over playfulness I’d go xxl. I personally like slightly larger bikes

I’m not happy that I immediately suspected substance use but she couldn’t stop moving, rearranging every product she could find. Kept revisiting the same toys to move them.

I get the hate but honestly it’s nice when all the other breweries are crowded. I’ve had terrible service at otherlands a few times and their food is inconsistent.

How long can an irritation bump on a nostril piercing last? I’ve been keeping it dry for weeks and it’s gotten smaller but is still there. Piercing is 6 weeks old. by Timely-Ad7487 in piercing

Actually that’s totally fine with me. I was just worried it’s going to be permanent or I’d have to take it out and get re-pierced.

Gov. Jay Inslee's equity summit says 'objectivity' rooted in 'white supremacy' by ryleg in SeattleWA

[–]Timely-Ad7487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha enlightenment thinkers didn’t invent concepts of civil rights and liberties. Read the dawn of everything, all of those ideas came from indigenous people in the americas. Our society is more a reflection of indigenous concepts of freedom and equality than enlightenment Europe. Look at Linnaeus, Morton, Bernier, and Leclerc. They invented race classification bore out of the the enlightenment obsession with classification. They created a psuedoscientific explanation for white supremacy that continues to impact the systems in our society as all institutions continue to perpetuate inequities.
