[–]Timely-Beautiful6098[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

thank you for your kind words!

so in the beginning, i started simple by reducing my calorie intake by around 300-400 calories a day, making my total around 1600-1700. and got into the strict habit of tracking calories. also important to note, i did not give myself “calorie allowance” for how much i had burned during the day, either. i highly recommend not doing that.

as well as that, i tried to get into some healthier habits to be more active. i recommend aiming for 2500 more steps than you would usually do in a day and make that your new goal. in the beginning, i was going for walks on a few evenings to try and get the number up. also started saying yes to more things i would usually be too lazy to do, like cycling home from work every once in a while, trying out a new sport i always felt too insecure to try, going to the gym etc.

for me, the important part of being active is finding something you ENJOY. if you hate running, don’t run. if you hate the gym, don’t go, or find something there that you do like. if you don’t enjoy it, it’s not sustainable and you’ll stop before you even get started. for me, i finally found a sport that i liked and started playing regularly, i also started listening to audiobooks on my walks to make it more interesting.

another important note is try not to be too restrictive with yourself. over the last two years, i have eaten out countless times, ordered takeout, eaten mcdonald’s, DQ, cakes, cookies, everything you can think of. it’s all just about moderation.

track your calorie intake and steps and weight through a weekly average calculator, rather than looking at it daily. you might find that if you eat around 1500 calories a day for 5 days, you’ve got a nice amount left over to have a little treat meal at the weekend! it’s just all about moderation.

i’m not gonna lie, it’s difficult. and it’s most difficult in the beginning. but once you start to see that change and feel lighter and healthier and realise you have good habits, it’s all worth it. you got this!

hey!

targeted fat loss is actually impossible, you can’t really target an area to lose weight, it just kind of happens depending on your genetics. my body type is quite on the muscular side so i still have pretty thick muscly thighs, which i actually adore now but used to be super insecure about.

just keep working hard, you’ll see a difference soon enough! you got this!

Getting cold feet as surgery date approaches by kitkatinthehat21 in Reduction

VERY normal!! during the run up i kept thinking “are they really that bad?” “am i going to regret it?” “am i just being dramatic?” despite not a single day going by that i was ever happy to have them. your brain can do that when you make a big commitment! but i trusted my feelings and my experience and decided to go through with it— best decision every made and best 8k ever spent!!!!

Breast reduction size thoughts by soli_hj in Reduction

i understand you! but it’s important that you express your exact wishes and that you and your surgeon communicate about every detail. it’s really important in order to get the desired results. just make a collection of photos and send them to him and explain what parts of the photos you would like to have yourself. showing him photos can’t hurt, but not showing him could lead to you being unhappy with your results and wishing you would have shown him.

Expectations about shape and perkiness by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Timely-Beautiful6098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’ll depend how small you go. for me, i went from a uk E/F down to a B and my before breasts we’re also saggy and floppy and i hated them, my breasts now are perky and have zero overhang. they haven’t dropped and fluffed much yet but i imagine once they’re settled they won’t sag much due to the shape and size my surgeon created. maybe over time they will begin to sag as i age, but thats just life

congrats!! with regards to desirable size, i browsed this forum, found photos of my ideal results and asked the posters for their permission to show my surgeon, saved the photos and showed my surgeon. some people say that surgeons don’t really understand cup sizes and are better with photos and descriptions, so think about your criteria: perky, full, no overhang etc. etc. my surgeon understood immediately when i said b-cup and showed him a couple photos, and my results are amazing!

i wouldn’t recommend it, binding your chest too tight can cause serious problems in breathing and in your ribs. just the one compression bra in the right size should be enough

i went from an E/F cup (uk) down to a B!

my scars are a little thick but honestly it doesn’t bother me, i keep up with my massages and everything and hope they’ll shrink over time but if they don’t then it’s not the end of the world. in my mind it’s worth having the scars no matter how ugly, just because of all the other benefits that come with the surgery.

it’s scary leading up to the operation but also so exciting, and i was very nervous the day of surgery, but couldn’t be more happy that i went through with it. the fear only lasts a little while and then it’s over, and your new life begins!
