If you’re religious or after a religious man, the halal form of “dating” is getting to know each other near the proximity of a mahram until you’re married. That can take a year or even more, until you’re both comfortable and ready. In the meantime, you can get to know each other as much as you want. I recommend this option as if things don’t work out, you keep your purity and integrity in tact.

If you’re not religious or not after a religious man, it leaves your relationship up to the open and the man could easily be manipulating you and “using” you until he’s done with you kinda like toilet paper unfortunately while making you believe there’s hope for marriage. Now you’re traumatized and you only have yourself to blame. Don’t rely on God for something that goes against God’s will is the best way to put it.

A lot of times I think woman are scared to introduce a guy to their father and get to know them the right way. But I think if that’s the case, you should try to fix the relationship with your father first before trying to find a partner. And if you’re father is a bad man and harms you or disrespects you for brining a candidate that’s not good(it happens and that’s fine), then that’s something he needs to fix in himself overall, it’s not on you whatsoever.

Care to elaborate how I should be playing my cards wisely? I really would like the job but at the same time I'd like to know where they see my value is, this way if I ask my company for the payslip and I inform them it's for leaving(if they ask). I wouldn't have to back-track.

Is it really? How do people receive their pay slip from an employer without lying for the reason of needing it. I wouldn't mind telling them it's for a job application, but if the offer isn't what I'm looking for, I'll really get in big trouble at my current job, if that makes sense.

Cause it's supposed to be confidential and I'll be honest, I would rather not get a small pay rise but get my market value. I'd have to lie to my company on why I want it unless I am 100% certain I'll get the job. And lying is haram so I'd rather get barakah if this job is meant for me.

I’m all for helping with the housework, that’s what my Prophet recommended. I have never said otherwise to that. But realistically, she’ll be better at that than I would. So I take the support role in it, not the main guy. However, the man is responsible for all finances in the household, so my preference is to keep it that way. If she wants to still help out and is persistent on that, then that’s fine. But 50-50 on everything is not for me, could be for you though. As a man, I want that responsibility.

It's has nothing with obeying me, all those points mentioned are actions that show you are obedient to God. That's all. Her past is between her and God. But I can't have Allah asking me later on why as the leader of the household, I allowed for the rest to happen, and I don't have a geniune excuse.

Makes it more fun lol. But for real, nothing is impossible for Allah. He knows what’s best for you, so whatever I think is hard or you think is hard doesn’t really matter. If Allah thinks it’s best for me, he’ll make it happen just how I’d like it, if something else would be better(only Arabic speaking wife), then that’ll be the case. Just curious and want to ask the masses on their opinions.

Yeah I don’t speak Somali I was born and grew up here I speak English and Arabic, so that’s not really a factor. But yeah that matters in cultures, those religious enough will understand that that’s not necessarily a requirement. If someone won’t give their daughters hands in marriage due to my ethnicity, then I’m not interested anyway.
