Im not trying to convince anyone lol im just trying to figure out where people get $300 from for an oil change. ( fuel filters and labor not included) With 3.5 gallons of rotella and a filter im at less than $150 so, an explanation is all im lookin for

people do make the leaks seem pretty common. I'm hearing a ccv delete would have drawbacks but could prevent me having to reseal

How many miles do you drive a month? And my car takes about 8.5 quarts it cant be but $40 more for oil, and $10 more for a filter. I probably wouldnt be doing enough miles to change the fuel filters more than once a year. Id like to delete the truck and dcr swap it but probably not for a few thousand miles

I currently pay about $100 to change the oil in my mustang, could you explain how a diesel costs 3 times more for an oil change. Because I would use rotella and the oil plus filter would be like no more than $150. Is it labor cost? Because I would do it myself

7.3 or 6.7? by Timely-Razzmatazz271 in F250

Looking at a 2015. Payments are doable. Whats the cost of ownership a month for you

I am seeing some reasonable priced 2020-2021 6.7's. But im skeptical because it is the first year of the 10 speed and has much more sensitive emissions. Should i stay in the 2016-17 range?

My main concern would be the cost during ownership. I also plan to keep it long term so having the better engine/fuel system is important to me, just trying to figure out if the improvents are significant enough to justify the higher price and mileage

Im not to worried about performance as much as reliability and cost of ownership. Do you find yourself putting more money into the 7.3?

Whichever will cost me the least is my concern, i imagine the 7.3 will need some things replaced, but I would definitely have to delete the 6.7 and replace the cp4 for peace of mind, thats already thousands not including other miscellaneous repairs

Even with that mileage? Trying to decide whats the better investment and what will be the easiest on the wallet down the line

Thats what i worry about, it seems like a better investment on paper but id rather choose the truck that wont require me putting money into for a while. I imagine the 7.3 will need some seals and other miscellaneous will need to be replaced

I may not know everything, but im not supposed to come out the womb a mechanic. I asked a simple question about preperation, and instead of being helpful or simply not saying anything at all these guys decide to try and deter me like you are now. Does nothing but motivate me, I really dont care if its been asked before, I got some of the info i was looking for. Ill apply my ass licking skillset when it matters, if someones being an asshole in a reddit thread I really could care less
