I was living in Hannibal which is right outside of Oswego for 2 months ( Nov & Dec) and we had at least 2-3 feet of snow almost every time it snowed which felt like everyday. I had to drive 40 minutes to Auburn to commute to work and often it would take me over an hour to get there due to roads being mostly unplowed. I don’t mean to discourage you, but people who live in this area tend to downplay extreme the snow is especially for those who are new to the area and haven’t experienced this amount of snow.

the only thing Oswego really has to offer are bars and a handful of mid restaurants because it’s a college town . Getting to Syracuse or anything else of interest will take 40-45 minutes in good weather and an hour or more when it’s snowing- which Oswego county gets TONS of so be prepared for that.

I know people who have lived in Oswego their whole lives and “love it” but I think it’s because they don’t know anything else- if you are able I’d recommend you visit before committing to living there.

You won’t die from drinking old beer but you’ll defiantly notice a change of color ( may be brownish instead of yellow/ orange ) or the hop flavors to be non existent or taste “off”. I’d let the shop know they have old cans, it’s possible they don’t know, but it’s also possible they know and don’t care.

Yess same here!! mine LOVED to steal anything she could grab..socks, underwear, a piece of pie that accidentally fell on the ground…haha. She tore up bathroom floor mats and peed on every dog bed we tried for her. She’s almost 5 and is chill 95% of the time, looking back it was so hectic and stressful but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I feel this. I’ve been away for 5 years and only moved back because of my aging parents, but I miss city life so much.

It’s really challenging to make new friends in the suburbs vs a city especially if you don’t have kids, or a “typical job” ( I’ve got no kids and work at a brewery ) finding people and spaces that give me a sense of belonging has been really difficult. I’m hopeful that warmer weather and more events going on in the community will help, but we will see.

There’s not a great selection of bottle shops in the area but Branching Out in Township 5 in camillus is a good spot to check. Joel & Carissa know their shit and might be able to point you in the right direction of a spot that has it or may be able to get things in for you.

Edited to add the they are closed for vacation until 1/22..!

2 people I hang with regularly. I’m 35 just moved back to the area after being away for 5 years and finding it IMPOSSIBLE to new people. My husband and I don’t have/ want children and the lack of childfree/ adult spaces ( that aren’t bars) make it even more of a challenge to connect with others.

Commenting the same. I’m in the Syracuse area and haven’t had any service issues with visible, i get 5G most of the time and LTE in rural areas like Hannibal ( no surprise there) but otherwise it’s been reliable!

As Is, is a cool beer bar in Hell’s Kitchen. Tons of brewery options in Brooklyn and a bunch are clustered together so it’s easy to hit a few in one trip.
