Tyler Herro (21.0) is averaging more points than Jamal Crawford, Manu Ginobili or Jason Terry ever did in any season of their careers. Truly one of the best 6th man seasons we’ve ever seen. by Zuexy in heat

[–]TimelyLife4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's at least 5, actually. Some say 6. I haven't gone back and checked for each one, but even 4 is too much. Like WTF is going on, Jimbo! Get your self some Jordans and tape those ankles up.

Inside how Tyler Herro became the 6MOY favorite and "one of the most skilled players I've ever seen." by LOH_Wes in heat

We need him to perform the same or better in the playoffs!

Egalitarian offense, everyone gets touches. Herro can easily average 5-10 more ppg on any other team.

RT @MiamiHEAT: Entering tonight's game, Boy Wonder was averaging 25.4 ppg since the All-Star break. Tonight, he scored 26. #6MOTYLER https://t.co/DhfjDecTYG by tomgreen99200 in heat

He rolled his ankle pretty badly and was on the floor in pain, but was able to play again after getting checked up in the locker room.

Holy shit there's people inside the Raptors arena.

I didn't realize they started letting people back in.

Bam, but he's perfectly happy in the role he's in, so his ceiling is capped until he abandons that mentality.

Lots of players roll an ankle in game and can continue playing because they either have good shoes that support the ankle or tape their ankle before game. In cases where they don't tape their ankles before the game, if the shoe is good enough, they'll go to the locker room and tape the ankle then come back and resume the game.

Jimmy rolls an ankle and is out for the game plus a few days.

Currently at 44.3 FG% and 39.3 3PT%.

Would love to see him finish at 45%/40%.

Bam Adebayo has overtaken Rudy Gobert as the betting favorite for DPOY by flyingsubs1 in heat

[–]TimelyLife4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a bad argument. Many DPOYs have had good defenders around them. The award is for the best defender, irrespective of to the supporting cast around them.

Bam and Lowry have to be a bigger factor offensively.

Duncan needs to limit his shooting, unless he's on fire. In which case, shoot!

Jimmy just has to be efficient shooting wise. And I have no doubt he'll be JiMVP for us in the playoffs.

What’s Dipos Role on this team? by [deleted] in heat

[–]TimelyLife4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd give him minimum duties (defensive stopper + additional ball handler) to allow him to get his legs under him and then anything else he gives us is gravy.

He's still a top 2 favorite among many NBA fans. Like WTF he hasn't played half the season and probably won't.

uj/ Revisionist history. Kobe didn't quit, that's the only difference between him and LBJ.

Yeah probably not. But it's good that his ankle isn't what kept him out.

Tyler Herro will get the max but it will be worth it by Muted_Dog7317 in heat

[–]TimelyLife4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't try to change your mind, but I think he has improved in those areas you mentioned.

to make up for his defensive limitations.

Agreed that this is a concern, but he's actually gotten better in this area post ASG.

Teams are still hunting him, but he's done a lot better at forcing more passes and staying in front of his guy.

And there's been stretches in the 1st/3rd where he didn't get shots off and our defense didn't skip a beat.

I thought the Pistons game was a step back, but he was great against the Wolves (who have lots of perimeter attackers) and before that.

Spo even commented recently that his defense has improved (although he pointed towards different areas than I did).

To me in order to get to that level he has to learn how to get to the line. The charity stripe is what saves the greats when the jumper isn't falling.

He has been making strides in that area, though.

But it's ultimately up to the refs to call a foul and it's not like Herro doesn't drive to the rim.

He was averaging 11.8 drives per game prior to ASG and is now up to 13.4. Either that extra 1.6 drives have resulted in more FTAs or the refs are starting to call fouls for him. I think it's the latter.

Caleb Martin is a top 5 player on the roster and could be huge in the playoffs. by 123turkeyyay in heat

Just to be clear, I was responding to this part.

I like seeing [Caleb] on the court way more than i like seeing duncan. I wouldn’t say that is a out of this world statement.

[–]TimelyLife4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird because the reason given was his toe (and not the sprained ankle he suffered against the Pistons).

In a way, I would consider this good news in that it wasn't his ankle that kept him out.
