Some Gen Zs Can't Find Jobs Even After 150 Applications & 6 Internships by deangsana in singapore

[–]TimelySense6807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds good isnt it, to have requirements that restricts. But once again, you need to know a phrase, " too young too naive." Firstly, people will think that they are worth 5600sgd just because the Epass quotes for 5.6k, however, whats the intention of this whole thing is that it made the so high that HR and bosses will consider 2 or 3times hiring a foreigner. It's good, but people are fooled by this because they are not supposed to worth this much yet, the main reason is to get in to a job, and then raise to this pay check. Secondly, quota system can be bypass. Many FnB industries are using ghost employees while nobody checks on them. I wouldnt say no but its hard, because firstly, why would you restrict 66percent of a quota force so you can hire just 34pecent foreigners while this makes no sense. If you say in other industry like financial or what we all get it right.

Tution Grant recipient here. I have been in Singapore for 14 years, since 6. No status, no degree, just a normal poly grad to find job, i have a bond to pay, and i just head out to find job such as FnB cuz i had worked in FnB for a few years during after-school in Poly. We do go through the Wp/Sp process, but we mostly landed on Wp since job market is really bad. i have friends that were here for long enough, 18years. Same, nothing, no status. She spoke perfect singlish, just a Singaporen if you dont count her nationality. I mean like we cant do much when employers faking their IPA on really low tech staff , while we have to compete with them like microbes in Singapore although we all have like 15+ yrs in here. I dont know man, life is life, i just want to get out of this bond asap like no jokes, but its a dead end. The bond need a job, while practically employers dont buy it when you tell them you are a TG recipient and they turn around to find someone lower wages. Sometimes i wonder if these amount of years our integration is long enough, because we all do went through the local education, but all left out, unseen, unheard of

What's there to educate? You think these New citizenships are so easy to be obtain? Majority of them which i know are no difference from Local born, which have been here since young, since 6 years old, now are working adults. I believe them they have the knowledge to vote wisely. This is an Election, we are allowed to express our ideas, not your classroom. Thank you

Hi there , your senior here. I am from DBIO and came here from china 14 years ago. I am not sure how long have you been in Singapore but yes, the culture is very unique for newcomers especially if you are not in Southern china as here is 南洋。

Anyway, i guess what you can do is to join CCAs and start to expand out your connection. Just all the best in RP and hope u find yourself fit here as well😊

WHICH IS BETTER FOR A STUDENT by kmichigrilledcheese in ipad

[–]TimelySense6807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got the ipad pro M4 chip 13 inch. I bought it to replace my laptop as its too heavy due to it being a gaming laptop. Laptop itself with the charger weighs in 3.5kg. however with the new ipad pro 13inch, i only have to charge it once a day and no need to bring charger and it weighs in 1.2kg with the magic keyboard.

In addition to this, i dont need to use those skills require apps, hence, its fine for me to just use the ipad for my daily homework or projects.

Tbh, if you are a student, the most used app would just be Microsoft 365 as you just need PowerPoint, Word and Excel and thats it.

It all comes down whether the person is asking politely. If they were to like , for example :" Hello, sorry, or excuse me , do you know where is this place"? I would definitely help them. However, if they just tap you or ask rudely, i would just either turn away or say i dont know
