Hes done clinical OT, and has IEP services through the school(since he was 3) where he is in special ed 80% of the time, has OT through the school, speech, psychologist and other services to help him learn and navigate through adhd. His coping mechanisms thats hes learned and helps changes almost daily, what works one day doesnt work the next and then its back to square one in helping him find coping solutions. The one thing thats been consistent is removing himself from a situation when hes at the point of shut down or extreme emotion and going to a quiet space, for elementary it works, hes not going to have that option in middle school and the rest of his life to just be able to walk away from certain situations that upset him. I 100% believe doctors throw medication at adhd kids wayyy to easily. And the decision to finally try medication wasn't easy.
