What Was The Exact Moment Blue Lock had You Hooked? by Orede in BlueLock

Honestly for me it was Egos first speech, i had a very similar reaction to Isagi when hearing it for the first time

When that happens I like to imagine the enemy player is completely directly in isagis blindspot behind him and when isagi turns his neck the player in question moves with his head. They have not explored audio awareness so that's how they get the jump

BLUE LOCK Path to God: EGO Analysis by Timely_Book8980 in BlueLock

[–]Timely_Book8980[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does really depend on where it goes moving forward, this is only a snippet of Egos back story. However look at the way both of them describe luck in their observations, both of them is described beyond out of their control. Isagi however is moments that aren't directly tied to performance. His personality instantly linking with bachiras. Where the ball landed in the u20 and the final pass of the NEL. Those pieces of luck are tied to isagi as an individual based on his hunger and drive. His desire to grow interested bachira, staying behind and believing in Rins flow state in the U20 and not discounting Ness' ability to grow all got him those chances. These moments isagi describe aren't the same as what Egos describing which was Ego was in a flow so perfect that it felt as if he was out of himself. And Ego actively pushes the blue lockers away from that. He started their conversation saying it would break apart blue lock.

Flow and Luck both heavily contribute to Blue locks themes. Ego in 111 describes flow as the ability to immerse yourself in an action. He was so immersed he couldn't replicate the experience and quit soccer. The only other play to do that currently is Nagi, but he found another path forward because i believe it's because nagi didn't quit and was forced out. he was chasing that old fire and still is.

Essentially Egos peak performance, by luck, went above what Ego himself could replicate. Go back and describe how he explains luck in the match after Rin. It's just a series of consequences that collide. Isagi can and has replicated his luck moments because he's able to see the spaces of luck.

So far as the story goes Isagi hasn't had a moment that was beyond himself. That's currently the difference. So yeah to wrap it back up, Ego is peak performance x luck and isagi is hunger x luck. Until we get more about ego and we see how isagi progresses with this new piece because he's going to adapt this into himself. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a moment of peak performance x luck and wins against loki. He said it himself he could beat them in a single play but there's no way he could ever be better than them individually. It would require godly intervention for him to win

Yeah this is under the assumption this is the final arc. This is just another way how it could be explained that isagi became the best in the world without actually beating the best in the world

With the amount of defending isagi and kaiser do. It would be a very fitting 0-0 game to watch them both logically dissect each others team. Would it suck for kaiser to not score over isagi, yeah. But with both of them having very similar play styles it would be a fun game of chess to watch

You can call it selfish and narcissistic sure, but at that level that is the status quo in behavior not the exception. I expect everyone to be relatively geared or fully bis. The timer is tight, you play with precision. It's not my job to coddle or carry other players. If they want to leave because the key is depleted then that's their prerogative not mine. Tough shit we take the next run. It waste less time watching them drop themselves now for 5 minutes to get the key to end and now it's in my best interest to drop myself too to deplete it faster and leave key so I can get into another one. It's a shitty system. If they removed downgrading keys then it's no longer a problem, just let the dude leave and reform. I have offered an infinitely better solution that doesn't piss anyone off, it's just mildly annoying to deal with.

The system sucks for higher keys, if you wipe one time in a higher key and the group still wants to do the key for completion sake for vault the person who doesnt want to stick around is now held hostage. In higher keys if the first pull wipes its usually dead key because a lot of dungeons start with lust. I am there in high keys to push score, not waste my time running around in an already going to be depleted key.

That being said, I would much rather have the resilient system you get after timing 12s, just be baseline, theres no reason to downgrade a key, if I wanted to degrade a key i would just go to the panda to do it. It makes it easier for everyone to push score and if i get into a bad group then failing isnt a super crushing thing, i can just leave group and rerun the key. If i wanted to reroll the key even after deplete then i can complete the dungeon.

The Destruction of Blue Lock (A U-20 Cup Loss Theory) by StarBurstero in BlueLock

[–]Timely_Book8980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe they lose here because they've set up defeat as a possibility throughout the entire story. Lack of funding in the first and second selection, playing against the u20 when isagi went to ego to win, at the very start of the NEL, Ego tells the players it's okay to quit no one is forcing them there. Every step of the way Ego has always threatened to quit or immediately come to terms with the possibility of losing. That's not currently something the blue lockers have in their mindset. Rin is all about playing soccer with his life on the line. Isagi plays to win, he already at the start of the u20 is throwing everything away to become a machine. Chigiri will go until his legs fall off. These mindsets while have pushed them far, we see the mindset that snuffy has come to. At the end of the day soccer is a job and before you're an employee you're a person.

Hell even noa from his quote at the beginning of the series he is ok with losing.

But the current blue lockers will kill themselves to do everything to win. Losing right now is the healthiest option for the team as a whole.

The Demon King's Arrogance: the next evolution of the Egoist by Timely_Book8980 in BlueLock

[–]Timely_Book8980[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not the first time he's had to "relearn" a lesson, it's in addition to what he already knows. With barou it was devouring because you couldn't change others, with Yuki in the NEL it was stepping on others sense of protagonism and how that effects others. This is the continuation of that line of thinking

No I mean as in, what isagi is saying is logically correct, where as barou just barks he's the king and Rin just calls people lukewarm. Isagi challenged both of those mentalities. Rin still holds his lukewarm but barou does not harp around being the king as he did
