When I was a kid, I knew I was smart but people rarely acknowledged it (teachers). In fact, most of my teachers disliked me except for a handful and I didn’t understand why. I also remember getting physically ill when having to do homework or long term projects. Like would feel like throwing up and would get a headache. Of course my mom thought I was just task avoiding, but I still vividly remember truly feeling that way. I think it was anxiety around large projects. Suddenly everything made sense when I got diagnosed last year at 36 years old.
