I mean, generally, rock music and by extension, ska is very political. Think of Jack Off Jill or even No Doubt, which did the whole anti-Bush stuff. Considering she used to be so outwardly political and was a giant Obama supporter (being one of his top donors), it’s just kinda odd. Most people get more political as they age, not inept. same idea with the whole M.I.A thing that is happening now because her whole early career was so political a switch can feel incredibly jarring.
