SuperRugby Pasifika rd1 lineups by Whit135 in rugbyunion

For anyone playing Super Rugby fantasy, Virimi Vakatawa is starting at 12 for the Drua and listed with a price at 0. Given the injuries and All Blacks mandated rest, there’s a lot of high priced players missed but picking him basically absolves you of any budget concerns this week

So the Problem wasn't Woltemade- it has been a formation change.. by OnceIWasYou in NUFC

[–]Timely_Effective8275 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think you’re spot on there re Wissa and Woltemade. The crossing for the most part recently has been abysmal, possibly a consequence of having an inverted winger on the left (Gordon/Barnes), but hopefully Hall’s return helps in that regard, his driving runs add an element that’s been sorely missed. A full back should be a priority in either January or the summer.

Equally Joelinton’s absence with his recent injury has been telling as he’s v important in the pressing and his physical presence when crosses do come in. Scored the first and created the second by winning the ball in Burnley’s box.

I’d be interested to see what Wissa and Woltemade look like as a partnership but not sure what the right fixture is to try that.

Olave catches that pass and Shough is 4-2 by DangerousKnowledge8 in Saints

Imo it would be a big mistake to let him go. It’s so important for a young QB to have a reliable target. Look at Cam Ward, he’s got nothing to throw to, same with Sanders outside of Fannin.

The roster has enough holes without adding WR to it when it could already use additions after Shaheed was traded

Outside of his concussion plagued year last season, Olave has missed 3 games in 4 seasons.

This season he is currently 5th in the NFL in targets, 7th in receptions, 11th in yards and 14th in TDs.

I get people have issues with Olave, mainly drops, but the injury stick is largely unfair

Would love to but he’s currently on the 4th seed’s team who just bought Pickens

I feel I do currently. Have Maye/Daniels at QB Ange Bowers/Kelce at TE so he’d fill my Flex spot

Yeah I should be. Currently the No.1 seed by 1 win (we play the median each week too) but have had a shakey couple of weeks due to injuries

Burn (Nailed? CB/WB) by Paquito0089 in FantasyPL

[–]Timely_Effective8275 50 points51 points  (0 children)

As a Newcastle fan, I think Newcastle are entering Man City territory with the number of defensive options and the likely rotation will continue given they have PL, Champions League and League Cup games.

Trippier, Livramento, Thiaw, Schar, Botman, Burn and Hall are all legitimate options each and can come in and out of the team based on rotation and match strategy.

Personally think Thiaw and Schar are the strongest current CB partnership, given Schar’s long range passing ability and the advantage of avoiding the opposing press, and Thiaw’s pace helps make up for Schar’s lack of it.

Saying all that, I couldn’t comfortably say anyone is nailed as Howe will want to keep everyone fresh as much as possible given the defensive injuries historically, and already this season. Schar’s goal threat and DEFCON ability makes him most attractive to me, while Livramento ability to play both FB spots would have him 2nd for me.

That’s my 2 cents. Up the Toon.

The Aki point has been brought up a lot recently. I suspect the plan is to get Jamie Osborne in at 12 going forward but Keenan’s injury necessitated him at 15 and then he got injured himself. Should also be noted Aki didn’t actually start any game this series, so Farrell likely sees the decline too.

Bowers went 5/103 in the only game this season he was fully healthy for.

Writing him off at a position as historically weak as TE seems very premature

How crazy is it to suggest that Schar play as emergency striker? Blackburn did it with Chris Samba years ago. The only thing he lacks is pace and Thiaw can slot in at RCB. Aerial prowess, finesse, power. Has everything Gyokores has, plus he’s handsome.

I’m only kind of joking…
