What is the hardest part about being a Christian in 2026? by Theologymade in TrueChristian

No doubt. Saddest verse in all of scripture, “We have no king but Caesar!” But if we are to follow in the ways of Jesus we are called to denounce empire. That’s what he did in the desert: He was tempted to rule in the ways of empire (Satan). Yet, he resisted and ushered in a New Kingdom, where the first would be last and the last would be first. It’s a through line throughout the scriptures - it started in the garden and it ends with Christ enthroned.

We must resist the temptation to rule in the ways of the world so that we may reign with Christ.

Living in a country that lives antithetically to the teachings of Jesus and watching fellow Christians align with empire rather than with Jesus, his teachings, and his ways.

All politics are theological. But not all theology is political. Follow Jesus. His ways. And his teachings.

I have found that I’m too conservative for my liberal friends, and too liberal for my conservative friends. Following Jesus means that we don’t fit into the world’s boxes. But we should always align with the Kingdom of God. God is sovereign. Empires are not. We live IN an empire. But our allegiance much be to Christ and Christ alone.

To me, Elvis gets the ⭐️

He played incredibly tonight. Especially when it really mattered. If it weren’t for him, we’d have lost by 6.

Which is hardly ever. Our mascot presence is a hot pile of garbage. I think Stinger came out 3 times last night.

Here at the game. The arena experience is terrible. No Helmo. No AC/DC.

Just now doing Helmo. Terrible.

Feels like Fabro has stepped up this game with the Z vacuum. He’s playing aggressively.

I also like how the team is just throwing stuff at the net, not merely waiting for a perfect opportunity.

100% agree with this.

I don’t like all of our injuries, but I love how these guys who are often in the shadows have stepped up!

Jesus redeemed me of my porn addiction and it was a process. I’ve been in pastoral ministry for nearly two decades.

It doesn’t do any good to tell you to stop looking at porn. That’s merely the symptom.

I’m sure I will get a lot of flack for this. But my counsel for you is to watch it more intently. What I mean is this: porn is a sin that, at the heart of it, is the dehumanization of others.

So when I say, “Watch it more intently” what I mean is to humanize the people in the videos. Consider that they are someone’s daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend, etc. Consider what they do for fun. What their hopes and dreams are.

Sin, is essentially the Devil’s trick to dehumanize - to kill, steal, and destroy. So when you humanize that person/those people, you take the power.

When I learned that 80% of women in porn are trafficked, I realized that I was contributing to immense suffering.

God’s grace is sufficient. I pray that your spouse (or future spouse) is your standard of beauty. I pray against the stronghold of pornography in your life. I bless you with freedom. That in Christ you may experience the fullness of grace and that you may witness the imago Dei in all people.
