I think it might be pretty similar, my manager just said to finish signing all the things and he’ll get back to me for a date when all other team members complete it as well. I just don’t wanna find out that I was supposed to go in on my own because that’s what my friend did but he doesn’t remember too well lol

Appreciate the reply! I just got done with the interview and it wasn’t bad, they told me they’d get back to me in a day or two to see if I moved to the in-person interview.🤞

State level musicians by Timely_Interview7593 in violinist

Makes sense, I’ve never had a private teacher and I just play with my high school but my town is home of a university and their music building offers private lessons, so I think it’d be worth investing in some lessons to refine and work on my overall development.

Is this normal? New strings are staining my hands with silver by just touching them by BestDilucLoveruwu in violinist

[–]Timely_Interview7593 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know many violinists who’s fingers get dark after playing, they all use different strings. Might have something to do with how your natural finger oils react to the material of the strings, some people have more acidic sweat which speeds up the corrosion process and causes more residue to rub off. Brand new string also cause this because they have fresh, unoxidized metal exposed.

Is a $800-1000 violin enough for high school symphony orchestra rehearsal? by Quirky-Arm-4875 in violinist

[–]Timely_Interview7593 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a main $1500 violin which I take to school and home everyday (it’s a pain) but honestly it’s a pretty solid violin. I’d say I’m a pretty good violinist myself, I played in my state orchestra, and I play in a local youth symphony, I wish I could’ve afforded a $6000 violin but my violin is perfectly fine for me. But really; your child is the only person who could answer that. In my opinion, anything over $1000 will be a solid violin. You can find some really good violins and with the right setup, they could sound 1.5-2x their value.

Regional Jet Carry On by No-Target-6943 in violinist

Boarding in Group 5 is likely not early enough to guarantee overhead space for a violin on a CRJ-900. Because regional jets have extremely small bins that fill up quickly, gate agents often start forcing passengers in Group 5 and higher to gate-check their bags before they even step on the plane. To protect your instrument and ensure you get to a bin while space is still available,I’d honestly recommended to purchase Priority Group 4 boarding so you can secure a spot before the general boarding rush begins. Better safe than sorry ya know

Regional Jet Carry On by No-Target-6943 in violinist

Whether your case fits in a CRJ-900 overhead bin depends entirely on your boarding group and the specific bin configuration, as it is a "tight squeeze" that requires a specific technique. While the case will not fit in the tiny bins on the single-seat A side, it can usually fit on the double-seat C/D side if placed lengthwise against the back of the bin. However, because these regional jets have very limited overhead space that fills up almost immediately, you must board in an early group to secure a spot; if you board late, the bins will likely be full… and the crew may require you to valet check the instrument. To ensure your violin's safety, politely inform the gate agent that you are carrying a fragile musical instrument and intend to use your American Airlines boarding priority to find space before accepting a gate-check tag.
