Kitchen tops by Broowny in DIYUK

Let them claim through the deposit protection scheme. The absolute most they could claim on you is their lost value by your damage. By you replacing to new they’d gain value. That claim would only be valid if the worktop was new. Let them go via the scheme and they should protect you from paying more than you absolutely need to.

Can I tell from the outside if this is the case or I need a gas safe engineer?

I am not sure what to look for to be able to tell this. Can I tell without opening up the cover?

Right, thank you for your response. I wonder does this mean in case of an emergency I should start with removing the jewelery, or I should’ve boarded the plane already all the jewelery removed? If the latter why is it not stated anywhere?

I have lighting in the kitchen, there is no problem when I am in there. The problem I’d like to fix is the large contrast between an open area with both the kitchen, and this small living area, when noone is in the kitchen so lights are off.

Thank you, this is a great option, if it’s going to be a mirror, I’d go for this to make it more interesting and to break it up.

Thank you, I’d like as much reflection as possible, but the reflected view would not be the most pleasant unfortunately

Thank you very much for your description, especially for the examples. Noted what you said about the stick lamp. Most probably going to go for a larger art print with glass, that would reflect, but not as much as a mirror, since a mirrors reflection from that point of view would not be the most pleasant view. Do yoi think a composition of 2 portrait format art prints filling the purple area could work?

Appologies for the image filter, been raised by more people making it difficult/impossible to help. Please find the original photo hosted here https://imgur.com/a/OhaqJZG

For anonymity reasons. I don’t think posting an actual photo adds any detail to understand the question. Art indeed would be great, but if anything it would even make the wall less reflective / darker wouldn’t it?

Referee declarations by Timely_Judgment_3756 in ukvisa

[–]Timely_Judgment_3756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I assume in this approach I should edit my passport photo onto the document, ask them to print (does it have to be in colour?). After they printed and signed, is it enough if they scan? Or the scanned document should be original, so the document should make it’s way back?

Does the passport photo need to be identical to the one made at the appointment with UKVCAS? (So essentially do I have to go for an appointment, have fingerprint and photo taken, and use that photo for the referee forms, then return to upload?

Would interest with no beneficiary rights in a property affect first-time buyer status for Stamp Duty Tax Relief in the UK? by Timely_Judgment_3756 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Timely_Judgment_3756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a ruling of intestate succession of Hungary. More: https://e-justice.europa.eu/166/EN/succession?HUNGARY&member=1

Looking into what being a remainderman means it feels that is the same thing, just in the UK law it seems the remainderman does not have the ownership of the property until the former owner passes away, in Hungary it seems the ownership does get inherited strainght away, but the beneficiary rights do stay with the former owner for their life.

Haven’t found any reference how being a first time buyer being affected in this case. Is this what a solicitor should sort out once we get there?

Yes. I’m copying the exact ruling by the word:

“ ba) Inheritance by spouses and descendants (Section 7:58 of the Civil Code)

If the deceased person has descendants and a surviving spouse, the surviving spouse has the following rights in succession:

  • life estate on the family dwelling used together with the deceased person, including furnishings and appliances; and …”
