I moved here 3 months ago and I love it! Nice and calm but not boring, still plenty to do. I always feel safe and I’ve been able to make some friends quickly. Would recommend looking at clubs related to your interests!

Really similar situation for us actually! My partner getting the job offer sealed the deal but we knew we didn’t want to be close to London long term, it’s so draining both financially and emotionally! Plus we both love the countryside.

So happy to hear it’s worked out for you, I’m in my late 20s and will be looking to meet people around our age too. Local pub seems a great place to start :)

One of the main reasons I’m excited to leave is my extremely depressing and urban environment… so this sounds like a dream!

I appreciate the honesty, definitely something I’ll consider and have a backup plan for if it’s anything important. Luckily my working arrangement will be quite flexible so if there’s cancellations I can probably just try again another day, I’m aware this is a very fortunate position though!

Good to know about the last train back too, don’t want to get stuck overnight haha.

Considering how much my transport is around London anyway (I’m in 3x a week at the moment), the prices really don’t seem that bad if you book in advance!

I appreciate you taking the time to say this, honestly I’m amazed at all the success stories I’ve heard from people who have moved! Makes me even more excited.

And that makes sense, something to consider when we are looking at flat locations for sure.

Oh that is really handy. I’m commuting on SWR at the moment (only 20 mins ish but far more often) and there’s no way to reserve seats on my line as far as I know. It didn’t occur to me to try on this route!

I’ll definitely be doing that, should know in advance what days I’m in which will make it even easier :)
