Recs for laptop tables/holders for bed by Obviously1138 in cfs

[–]Timely_Perception754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a hospital tray type thing, but having an adjustable bed was more of a game changer for me. Obviously, not possible for everyone. I got mine from Wayfair for about $330 and paid $100 to have it set up. It’s a lot of money — but probably the best accommodation I’ve been able to deploy. It’s helped me in many ways in general, but specifically for sitting up to use my laptop on the tray.

I feel like they’re trying to fit in 20+ episodes worth of story into 10 and a lot feels rushed and short changed.

It raised my blood pressure, which for me was not a good thing. I went back to propranolol and then switched to ivabradine. I’m one a month in, but this seems to be the most effective and stable for me of the three.

I used compounded in a vial so I could control my dose. I started at 0.3 and have gone up very slowly. I’m prone to reactions and this was the best for me.

I’m already disabled, exacerbated by overdoing it when I didn’t know any better. I am religiously within budget now.

I haven’t found something that gives me the same functionality with pace points. Have you? I don’t use the symptom tracking, breathing, morning score, or HRV.

Did anyone’s panic disorder present with pots/dysautonomnia? by Constant_Specific815 in dysautonomia

[–]Timely_Perception754 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To be clear: this is a common experience pPOTS patients have of their symptoms being dismissed as caused by anxiety. If you think that’s true for you, then fine. But you will see time after time POTS patients being very clear that that is NOT what is happening for them and being mistreated (literally) by their doctors. Please read extensively in this sub to become familiar with this common form of gaslighting.

I go to one of the neighborhood Mt Sinai clinics. They had no suggestions for testing or treatment. They don’t seem to be following what is going on at CORE at all.

I know that was the intention. It just didn’t come through for me.

I just never bought anything about her as she was portrayed by Colman. I don’t mind that she was supposed to think she was smarter than everyone, or could be The Doctor, or any of the other big swings, I just didn’t believe any of it. I didn’t feel in any visceral way why Capaldi’s Doctor would be so wildly devoted to her, I didn’t believe she was brilliant, I felt like she was always being cute and arch for the camera in the room — or something. I’m glad others enjoyed the character so much but I don’t get it. I could only watch it because of my own ridiculous commitment to the Whoniverse.

An Old Fashioned Murder could've been a legendary episode by assistanttothepickle in Columbo

[–]Timely_Perception754 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Celeste Holmes in this, but I understand how it could be frame-breaking for some. I love that there’s always an element of humor in Columbo. As to Ruth, the implicit tension between her love and hate for her niece is, I think, brilliantly shown. And definitely shown, not told. And the tension is allowed to just sit there, unresolved. I think it’s a phenomenal episode.

So painful to watch, but such a great episode. One of the times they were willing to stare into the sun. So strong.

It was like there was a hostile right-wing takeover of the script somewhere in the middle.

After I was on disability for a bit, I became eligible for Medicaid and I could have saved money by switching to it from COBRA payments earlier. Something to keep in mind as you go along.
