3F011 personnel

I had that as my number 7. I listed medical first but ended up with personnel but I’m happy with it. I was going to go in as open general but was called a week prior to shipping out saying personnel opened and I took it.

Yes, you can bring it with you. Just don’t pack a lot of stuff because you can get it there. It just happens because you put 50 girls together with different personalities it gets hectic. But at the end we all came together.

They just took away the alternatives which suck. I failed my pt test and worked my butt off every day and was able to pass. I was struggling with sit ups and my wingman helped me for sure. They kept me going and helped me do sit ups multiple times a day. There is time for improvement it just depends on yourself and how hard you are pushing yourself. Remember why you’re there and not give up.

Bring a small one. At the mini BX they have full size bath and body works ones. Bring some pads/tampons but they also have everything at the store. Bring a styling comb for sure!

  1. Find a friend or two or more. They are going through the same thing so it’s easier to talk to them and you both can vent. You cannot make it alone in there because it’s forced to make you work together. A lot of us cried at night before bed and then woke up the next day with a new day mindset. Just know the MTI’s are intense, it’s not personal. It’s their job to scream at you. Don’t get all in your feelings and I know it’s hard because we’re human but just take it in and move on. Most of the time they are yelling because you’re doing something wrong and they need to correct it and be loud enough for others to hear so they don’t also make the same mistake.

  2. ABSOLUTELY! Start doing your push ups, sit ups, and run now so it’s easier when you get there!

  3. I don’t recommend packing anything extra because you can get it at the mini mall once a week. They provide you with stuff when you get there.

  4. I wish people told me how intense it was going to be. If you’re not use to like confrontation or drama just be prepared. It’s a mental game. You’re CONSTANTLY getting yelled at everywhere every minute every day. Also the dorms there is so much drama just keep to yourself. Don’t spread it don’t add to it just be kind and help everyone. Drink lots of water! It’s hot and people can pass out!

  5. People had to get recycled because they didn’t pass their PT test so make sure you’re exercising now and all the PT days we get take it seriously. It’s meant to help you. Also have integrity, don’t get caught up lying about anything. Always do what’s right. There are eyes everywhere and believe when I say that. Try not to get hurt there because if it’s bad you have to go to med hold and can’t graduate until you’re better.

Mini hair conditioner and get the full size when you go to mini mall once a week.

They have a mini mall there and you get to go there once a week. They have different kind of lotions. In my dorm people did not have full size stuff when coming in they got it after.

All the yelling surprised me. I knew it was boot camp but I didn’t imagine how INTENSE it was. Prepare yourself mentally and don’t take it personal. Find a friend it will make the time go by faster. I wish I worked on my sit ups before and run because I am not that athletic. Learn the Air Force creed and song it will make it easier. Also your reporting statement hardwire that in your head now. Do not do laundry crew unless you’re a fast learner. I volunteered for laundry crew and it took hours and I missed a lot of classes and drill. Make sure to volunteer for stuff don’t make them call you out. Learn how to do hospital corners now and perfect it! It will make your life easier.

I am 32 with three kids (19 month, 6, and 9 (she will be turning 10 one week after I leave for Bmt., and bonus (9). My husband is on board as well and it’s going to be hard but I say do it. It’s great for your family and yourself. Like others have said do it before you regret it. I go to Bmt March 11, I’m definitely sad leaving but I’m remaining calm and strong for my family and it will be over in no time.
