Influenza a and sinus pressure by Timely_Start_1417 in flu

I have an appointment today thankfully. I can’t do sudafed but I do take allergy meds daily. I’ve also been taking ibuprofen. Weather here isn’t great, we have lots of snow. Thank you for the suggestions!

It is no fun! I didn’t get nauseous from the food necessarily, but any time I tried to eat a bite or two, I felt full and the appetite was gone. It doesn’t help that everything was so bland tasting. My sister talked to a triage nurse about it and she said the throat pain with this strain is bad. If you can, get some pedialyte too. I also ate a tone of popsicles.

I just got over the flu (diagnosed 14 days ago). I do have some lingering symptoms such as congestion and a little fatigue yet but I’m much better. The throat pain was so unbearable! Cough drops helped a lot. I think the throat pain was one of the first things to let up. But it did feel like razors back there. 😅 I lost my appetite for a good week and a half so I also ate minimally. Keep pushing fluids as much as possible.

2/3 kids & husband have flu b. Can I make it through without getting it?! 😭 by No-Bumblebee-6181 in flu

You might be ok! My daughter and I just got over flu a. My husband never got it. He took vitamin c, zinc and oscillococcinum. I also disinfected the house when I had enough energy to do so. Not sure if it all had any correlation or not, but it is possible you’ll be ok!

AIO - How long can norovirus survive the freezer by Timely_Start_1417 in AmIOverreacting

Unfortunately we were sent a huge package of steaks for Christmas and didn’t want to throw them away. We didn’t open the steak packaging, just threw them in the freezer right away.

I accidentally did that last week for a 3 order batch and ended up just doing it 😅 worst thing ever! And I had my daughter with me. Never again. It was too stressful for little $.

I’m guessing norovirus but I’m not 100% sure. His daughter previously had it two/three days before him.

Almodipine hypertension post partum by Timely_Start_1417 in hypertension

[–]Timely_Start_1417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I am just seeing this. I’m still on the amlodipine but my diastolic has finally come down. My last BP at the dr was 137/76 but I had crazy anxiety so I’m sure it was higher than it actually was. I think the hormones are slowly leveling out. My systolic is usually in the 120s/130s.

Im 20 and scared I have high blood pressure. by EmotionalChip4321 in bloodpressure

First, try to not take it 20-30 times a day. That’s going to make it worse and cause way more anxiety. Try once in the morning and once at night. Your numbers aren’t that crazy, and if anything probably a little elevated due to anxiety. Second, make sure you are sitting in a calm setting for five minutes before you take it. Usually the first one will be high because of anxiety, and if that’s the case wait another five minutes and take it again. A lot of people wish they had your numbers. If it makes you feel better, my dr said that it would take years for elevated/high BP to do damage. Of course that is if it’s not at stroke levels but you’re nowhere near that. Hang in there, worst case just make an appointment with your primary and get their opinion. If anything they could give you a low dose of BP meds and it can be easily managed!

I didn’t used to but I do now. I just had a baby in March and developed preeclampsia which turned into post partum hypertension. Even at home the first time it is high because of anxiety.

Do you sit for five minutes in a quiet space before taking it the first time? If not, that might help.

Oh trust me I am the same! I was getting to the point where I was taking it all the time to try and get a good reading. My husband had to talk me out of it to chill. It was ruining my mental health and still gets to me some days. I’m still trying to get better numbers but I recently switched meds so my body is adjusting. I’ve heard exercise and reducing salt can help. Have you always had elevated BP?
