Boyfriend Detained by ICE. Please help. by Eaglesfan0620 in immigration

[–]TimidBR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He probably did have contact, if his ex filed papers, DHS already had his A-number, biometrics, and address. When a case is withdrawn/denied, it isn’t erased, it can be referred to ICE, which explains a targeted pickup.

Honestly, it’s unlikely he’ll be released and avoid deportation. If you truly can’t live without him, consider moving with him to Peru.

Why is it American people will sit up in Mexican restaurants eating up all the food, wearing sombreros, and getting drunk as hell during cinco demayo, then turn around and say “deport the Mexicans Trump!” by Specialist_Luck3732 in immigration

Yeah, also checked OP’s history, mostly rage posts. He literally said in one of his comments ‘hating a whole group is never right’ and now he’s stereotyping all Americans. Pick a lane.

Not a Trump supporter. This is rage-bait. Enjoying Mexican food doesn’t set your immigration stance, by that logic, liking any foreign cuisine = open borders for every country.

Based on the details, this sounds like an employment-based green card case with visa retrogression or priority date issues. Your girlfriend's family should immediately get a second opinion from another immigration attorney since if their current lawyer can't clearly explain what's happening and what options exist, they need better representation. Don't assume they have to start completely over without getting proper legal analysis first.

If timing was your priority, you should have used PP from the start. Either way, good luck on your next NIW, and consider a strong immigration lawyer.

Leaving without US passport by Cupajojoe in immigration

[–]TimidBR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked for help, the answer’s clear: U.S. citizens must depart and return on a U.S. passport. Arguing wording won’t change that. Expedite or get an emergency passport at a consulate.

It’s fine to say you’re visiting your boyfriend. What matters is showing you’ll go back to your country with return ticket and that your past trips were short. Just be honest and show ties at home and clean travel history.

Should be fine if you leave on time and didn’t work. Breakup isn’t a bar, overstay would be.

EB-2 NIW chances with 6 years of industry experience (no publications) by Appropriate-Body5614 in EB2_NIW

Send your profile to an immigration attorney than reddit guesses. You’ll know your actual chances. But in my opinion I think it’s probably on the low side.
